  1. If I remember I had to pay for the locate car function. but cannot sound horn or flash lights I was advise that in order to operate the lock /unlock function you have to send a copy of your driving license to your scoda dealer. I have done this on three occasions over the past year but no effect. Advise to anybody do not pay for anything in the app it is useless.
  2. If I am correct you now have to purchase the facility to save destinations in the Nav system.
  3. Likewise here. I think you now have to pay for some of the facilities on the app.
  4. I have just paid to "renew" my infortainment package but , cannot see what I am getting for my money. My reason for renewing was my method of keying in and saving destinations changed at about the time my initial "free year" ended and ,I thought this was the reason for the change. Nothing has changed since I paid .
  5. My free 12month scoda connect has just expired and I have not renewed . Since then I have noticed that the method of address entry into my navigation system (Columbus) has changed and is very awkward. If I do not enter the street name first the screen just does nothing. I must enter the street name first and then the number for any destination to show. I wonder if the end of my free connect has caused this.
  6. I thought I was was bad having to replace my octavia key battery after 10 months.
  7. My previous Superb had a facility whereby the fog light came on with the indicator when the steering wheel was turned. However my new Octavia does not have such a facility . Does any body know if this facility can be activated on the Octavia.
  8. I tried this and ,while it resets the milage to next service. I am still getting an "inspection now!" notice for approx 5 seconds when I turn the ignition.
  9. Thanks folks for all the info but, no matter what I try I still cannot clear the check now warning . It would seem my model (2015) only allows garage to reset this item. The milage to next service was capable of being reset ok. I guess I will have to just put up with it until my next service.
  10. My 2015 Superb elegence has just been serviced , however I have just discovered that the garage neglected to reset the service interval counter. My previous 2011 model had a reset feature in the service drop down menu but, this is not visable on the present car. Each time I start I get a "check now" notice for about 5 seconds on the display and a gong. Initally an overdue date was also displayed but, I was able to reset this by bring up settings page and, keeping a finger on the odo reset button for approx 5 secs. As my service garage is apporx an hours drive away, does anybody know of a work around to reset this check now notice.
  11. You are right it is a workaround but it does prevent my windows from opening by themselves. It actually disables all actions including folding in wing mirrors other than open or close from the fob.
  12. Problem solved. Contacted a very helpful Scoda dealer, who told me it was a common problem and talked me through a cure. On maxidot display : go to settings-convenience-windows op. This will bring up 3 options off, all, or driver. set the setting to off. The dealer told me that they usually set this to off and, advise the owner of its availability before they release a car.
  13. Thanks for that. Will check out a few of the suggestions, meanwhile I will try contacting dealer and scoda
  14. Can anybody shed light on the cause of or, a cure for this problem: On two occasions in the recently, I have returned to my car to find all four windows open. On the first occasion it had been parked in an underground airport carpark for 10 days but, today it was in an open carpark for only an hour. Which could have been a problem if it rained and a bigger one if stolen.
