  1. So fitting a genuine VAG Bluetooth kit would invalidate my warranty?
  2. So it is just a coding issue, not the version of Columbus tat I have is unable to display it on ? Thanks
  3. I have now got Columbus and OEM Bluetooth fitted to my 2011 Octavia vRS. I have the Telephone options in the Maxidot, but no option for the Navigation (as I would really like to have the Symbols appear on the Maxidot screen) The Columbus HW Version is H11 and the SW Version is 3984 Is anyone able to tell me if this is possible and is just a coding issue. Everything works fine on the Columbus Screen so it's not the end of the world, but would be a nice to have. Your expert knowledge is appreciated. Colin
  4. I only watched it after seeing Dara O'Briain mentioning it at the end of one of his shows on Comedy Central. The film was utter rubbish though, not 1 of John Cusack's finest hours !! Do I have to pose a question now??
  5. I second the link to a Nilfisk. I have that very one, the only thing I would say is the Nilfisk Auto Wash is not very thick when it comes out of the Lance. I am probably not mixing it correctly but am filling it about 5 parts water to 1 part Wash. The patio cleaner however is fantastic !!
  6. Can anyone recommend someone to fit and code the following to my Octavia 2011 with Columbus. The link to the eBay item is shown below: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&item=270998919698&nma=true&rt=nc&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fsch%2Fi.html%3F_sacat%3D0%26_nkw%3D270998919698%26_rdc%3D1&si=14McNwmGbjLHyvveKErb%252BBgkckI%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc I could have a go myself but I would just make an arse of it and ruin my car / stereo / bluetooth kit etc?? I would prefer someone local who is also able to code it properly as well, but am willing to travel if required. I can book it into Shark in about 2 weeks time, but would prefer it sooner rather than later. I am in Tidworth, so within 30-40 miles of that would be great.
  7. If you didn't get your answer then I changed my HU in my 2011 VRs from the Bolero to the Columbus and bought the 'Octavia Trim for Navigation Surround' from SkodaParts.com> http://www.skodaparts.com/product/octavia-trim-for-navigation-system-2008-2013-50216 Wasn't cheap though, but it came within 5 days and fits perfectly.
  8. I had a Bolero fitted as standard along with Maxidot and I am sure I had a few options (Audio for 1) to have things showing on the Maxidot display. I have since changed the Bolero for a Columbus (and had it all coded to work - thanks Donovan), but now the extra options are not there (that I can find anyway) On pressing the Maxidot button I only have MFD Vehicle Status Settings Then when entering the settings option, there is no option (that I can find) to have anything else other than the MFD Data to display on the Maxidot screen. Is this an easy fix, or does it require VCDS?? Thanks Colin
  9. To me it is a no brainer. Having come from Germany where it is law (almost, but not quite) to have them I only ended up getting a set for my car and the wife's car last year. I did notice a difference in cold wet conditions instantly, and it was totally transformed in the snow (a lot less fun though ). I have since moved to Wiltshire and we changed both cars on the winters just before coming back, all we need now is the temperatures to drop to notice the difference again. Each to their own I suppose, but I wouldn't be without them again, after all I spent enough money on both sets so they are not going to sit in the garage no matter what !!
  10. I have just moved from the Mazda Sport diesel to the vRS Diesel ( picked it up about 4 hours ago). The Mazda was a great car, but I had 2 in a row and fancied a change. It is criminal not having the option of Bluetooth on the vRS unless you go DSG, but the Bluetooth on the Mazda was not as good as on my S-max either. I live in Germany so the 6 could run at 140 mph all day and feel planted on the road, but surprisingly the vRS has the bigger boot and is not as drab on the inside either. I am very happy with my change as I got the vRS with a few toys and still got money back from the dealer when trading in my 6
