  1. Got stuck in a queue at the bottom of a steep hill in a BMW 118 a few years ago. Plough/gritter cleared the road and I let all the "normal" cars get away before I charged the hill and got up and home. Fitted winter tyres the next morning and put 100 kilos of tractor weights in the boot - car would go anywhere after that
  2. 140 seems to be the one that is in the 3 year old cars I am looking at. Don't think they do 4x4 in the 110hp
  3. hi folks, looking at car options just now. Can anyone tell me the real world mpg they are getting from the 2.0 Tdi DSG 4x4? I do about 20K miles a year, mainly rural roads
  4. Had a word with a dealer today and was told that Diesel DSG 4x4's are not currently being built as they await WLTP approval. The dealer expects production to restart as soon as this is given. He also confirmed he expected this to be on SE L and above variants
  5. thanks, I have seen that but also seen a listing on a fleet user web site that indicated the drivetrain combination was available in lower spec models. Wondering if the Skoda configurator is out of date or perhaps lower spec models ae going to be introduced
  6. Hi all, I have been away from Briskoda for a while, having defected to other marques. I am now beginning the process of choosing my next car. I do over 20k miles a year and am frequently up farm and forestry tracks so need high ground clearance and auto box. Seriously considering a diesel DSG Karoq and may go for a 4x4 but struggling to find out which versions of the Karoq do diesel auto 4x4. Can anyone help Cheers
  7. Brilliant guys, was me that was being thick, not being used to the system. I hadn't picked up on the PTCD box On my other car (Renault Kadjar) I enter the postcode straight into the "town" box
  8. Hi, I have been away from Briskoda for a while but recently bought a new Yeti SE Outdoors. Am I missing something obvious or is the built in Sat Nav just cr@p? I visit lots of rural places where street names don't exist so rely on post codes - but I can only get the system to take the first 4 or 5 digits, so the satnav only takes me to wide geographical location. i.e. I want to go to AB12 3DC, but the system will only accept AB12 3
  9. slow down for something - say a round about or heavy traffic. when road is clear just press reset on the CC and change up as nessessary
  10. OK, maybe wasn't clear. CC doesn't disengage when changing gear but does by the other methods
  11. driven 70K miles and find it works well. Why would you want the cruise to disengage if you have to change gear??? Last car dis this and it was a pure buggeration
  12. I have a Honda Civic and cruise doesn't disengage if you change gear. - dip clutch, tap breaks or hit cancel on the steering wheel. It also has a speed limiter which is useful in areas with average speed cameras.
  13. Hi, I am looking to change my car later this year and need a roomy auto - Octavia Estate DSG is on my possible list. I quite often drive on farm and forest roads so the optional rough road package is attractive - I don't want to go to a cross over or 4x4. Anyone any experience odf this and can comment on how the car handles?
  14. yeap, everything was still there when I ugraded
