  1. Obvious question... you know they heat up in conjunction with switching on the heated rear window? Edit - my error! The OP is correct - have been driving an Audi S1 since saying goodbye to the vRS. Doh!
  2. Used to connect a portable hard drive to my vRS via a suitable MDI cable and had no functionality issues at all.
  3. Someone was a little over-enthusiastic with the interior tape? Love the way it runs straight across the trim gaps!
  4. Why not Go Large and fit a VW racing item? VW Racing Induction Kit
  5. If anyone is interested in my old car it's on sale here: 2011 Skoda Fabia vRS Good luck!
  6. My DSG had a little wobble a while back: DSG wobble Thankfully it was a one-off and didn't manifest again.
  7. Well folks, after owning both a MK1 & MK2 vRS, I’ve decided to move onto pastures new. This site, the members plus the advice & guidance has been superb throughout ownership and the combined enthusiasm for the models has been genuinely palpable. I’ll dip into the site now & then and my MK2 CAVE with no engine issues or, thankfully, DSG ones will hopefully find a home with someone who will take as much care of it as I did. Whoever you are, you’ll be getting a “good ‘un”. Happy trails to all and I’ll doff my cap as I pass(?!) in the replacement... an Audi S1.
  8. " Dear customer, No relevant recall campaigns have been launched by ŠKODA for the entered VIN XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX"
  9. Car is late-2011 model (with CAVE engine but that is working fine!) and 34F7 was not required as I enquired with Skoda Customer Services when the Service Campaign first arose. Less than 43k miles and driven, ahem, "briskly" but never abused.
  10. So the gearbox has started to exhibit very snatchy & unsmooth engagement at low speed/revs in both 1st and reverse, with the latter being much more noticeable & harsh. Clearly not happy. It's going to Skoda next week for diagnosis & rectification but early indicators point to a failing/faulty mechatronics unit and/or clutch pack. Luckily the All Component Cover Extended Warranty will take care of most of, if not all, costs. Will report back for info.
  11. Something like this? vRS engine rattle I believe it's been discussed before with possibilities ranging from the dry clutches (not on the lhs though) through to the air-con compressor clutch engaging mechanism. Have a forum search for further info.
  12. If you feel up to the job(s), it can be worth changing both the air and pollen filters yourself for peace-of-mind. For the small outlay and minor skill required there is a large amount of satisfaction to be had.
