  1. I had a problem with mine a couple of months ago, the car kept on unlocking itself constantly, central convenience unit had failed. €500 to fix, but yours doesn't sound as bad. I have heard people having problems with faulty wiring to the convenience which is thankfully much cheaper to fix. I hope its the latter!
  2. Bad Climate control too low, crap speakers crap stereo. Water in boot. Crap headlights Rear leg room just a TOO little. Sqeaky arm rest. Body roll on the 4x4 Good I've just replaced the stereo with the Skoda navigation unit, which hasn't improved the sound at all, but does mean I get to watch the little arrow on the map move! And makes the dash look a whole lot better. And just getting out on a back roads and being amazed at how well it drives, especially with the 4x4.
  3. I have mine on ECON all the time on the second lowest setting and 19c. I think on ECON its just a fan and the temp is ignored. I just got the impression when you have it on auto at idle it starts to chew up power. Mind you comming into the summer I might switch to Auto.
  4. I had a bit of a sqeek coming from the rear took me ages to find. Eventually some WD40 on the lock for the rear seats did the trick. Mind you the down button on the drivers window has stopped working now. Always something!
  5. Yeah, that sounds right, aren't all TT's 4 wheel drive?
  6. May I add to the previous silly question by asking an even more stupid question, Does it suit the 4x4 hatch? I believe the rear suspension on the 4x4 is different. In what way I don't know, but I know I want rid of body role.
  7. I just checked the persons history, and they had sold about 50 other SatNav units of various types, so I put in a bid and won. I also bought a radio removal kit and a plug and play wiring loom (makes it easier to install). Mind you I have tried to install anything yet. Going to have a go on Friday. If there are any hassles with the unit you can always refute the transaction and send it back!
  8. My Skoda MFD SatNav arrived today! I have no idea how to fit it, so thats the next big hurdle, I also bought (on ebay) a handy little radio removal kit and a plug and play wiring loom which apparently makes fitting easier. So for those of you who were thinking about SatNav but don't know where to go, you can get one on EBay second hand for about
  9. Anyone know the stats on the size of the boot in the hatch Vs the estate. If its not that much bigger I won't bother!
  10. It is a fold down buggy, problem is, even when its folded its still massive! It would have been a whole lot cheaper to stay sinlge and then I'd still have my Corrado! IF only they'd have made the Corrado estate, they could have plugged a massive gap in the market!
  11. I'll be selling mine here soon, so I'll let you know how I get on. Need the estate, you wouldn't believe the size of the buggy we have! Maddness! I'll let you know how I get on, so it'll give you an idea of what yours will be worth if you reregister. Also give GAFF a shout, he organises meets and karting nights etc for all the lads in Ireland on Briskoda!
  12. Good Idea, Mind you, in the motoring section of the Irish Times today, they're talking about giving the Garda the powers to impound "non-Irish" registered cars. Having said that, I had my Skoda for about 5 months or so before I registered it, and went to 3 or 4 road blocks and I didn't even have UK tax disk, no questions asked. Also had a UK Corrado before that and no problems. If you lived in the UK and owned the car there for more than 6 months your allowed to reregister it for free, but if your going back to the UK not much point!
  13. I was trying to find a rattle comming from the back for ages, finally remember to WD40 both the latches on the rear folding seats Bingo! Still can get rid of the sqeak from the arm rest though, that seems to be a factory fitted sqeak!
  14. Agreed, No doubt for the money I think the 4x4 offers even more bang for your buck than the vRS, it just doesn't have the looks of the vRS, which I'm not too bothered about. Thanks for letting me know Goochies interested, but I live in Dublin so I bought my 4x4 in kent and brought it home and reregistered it, They never sold the 4x4 in Ireland. (I also had to give the government €2600 to re-register it AND I STILL HAD TO BUY THE NEW PLATES MYSELF!)
  15. Thanks mate, I have a 4x4 hatch, I was just thinking I need a bigger boot, but I don't need another car, I love my 4x4, and if I given I need a bigger car, the only choice is the 4x4 estate. So I guess I'll just have to play the waiting game!
