  1. I have to come off the drive so I'd say it's over 90 secs by the time I've started it, and got it on the road. I'm not a mechanic so don't have any fault codes. I'm assuming the VAG specialist I go to has and found nothing.
  2. I bought my car here, and have had no major problems. They repaired the car under Warranty when the Electric Window motor failed. I can't say much more on the servicing, as I had the work done elsewhere/
  3. Hi, My mk1 vRS is not quite running right. Over the winter just gone it was really temperamental as cold start, and felt like it was going to stall. This would happen as I'd pull away, but also about two minutes later. The garage where I get my car work done (VAG specialist) couldn't see anything wrong apart from the Aux Air Pump. I had the rivets sheared, and fastened back together, but it was hard to tell if this had fixed it or not as the weather began to turn warmer as the work was done. I've now noticed the car still feels a little "reluctant" after a few minutes of driving, there is a bit of a hesitation when I accelerate (I'm not talking about gunning it!), but it comes and goes and always seems to be just a couple of minutes after a start. Is this common, or does anyone have any suggestions as to what it could be? If anyone can suggest a fix that would be much appreciated. Cheers, G
  4. When I say "wobbly" I mean there's a little more body roll than I'd like. To be fair this is my first car above Supermini size, so maybe I'm a little unrealistic on how it should perform. I'd like it to be stiffer, and for me I could take a drop in comfort on the ride. But it is the daily driver and as I regularly holiday in the UK can be subject to a few very long motorway/A road/B road journeys. My missus loves it, but she won't swap me for her mk1 Elise
  5. Octavia vRS mk1 - 95k Did a set of coils, secondary air pump was fastened back together. Nothing else mechanical. Would it stand up to a remap?
  6. Hi, Was just after the opinions of those in the know... Would I get a better performance car by: a) getting engine remapped (already have an exhaust on car), so hoping to get around 225bhp - May get up to 240BHP Having the suspension altered either by anit-roll bars or new springs - potentially dampers buy a newer mk2 (possibly a Limited Ed for the lovely interior) I think the petrol is more up my street, but if anyone really rates the diesel I'll give it a go. My current car has covered 95k (it was when I bought it with 65k on the clock). I find it too wibbly wobbly in the corners for my liking. I've not had chance to drive a mk2, but as it's based on a superior chassis I'm assuming it has more control already. Thanks for the replies, G
  7. Hi, Do you have the pop-up drinks holder from the centre console? Mine wont shut any more. Cheers, G
