  1. Thanks for the help. I have not had my rear washer jet working for a few months and when I investigated it appeared to be leaking from my front nearside wing area, not actually needing it I have kept putting off the job. I was originally told that I would have to take the wheel off and remove the inner wheel arch to access it, not the case as I now realise, took me all of 5 minutes to check there, unfortunately this was not where the leak was coming from, only near to where the water was runnung down too. The next bit took me about 15 minutes, using the guide I discovered that the material on the bulkhead behind the air filter was wet, so I felt round till I found a free floating pipe, which I propped against another pipe and then tried the washers, and yes this was were the water was coming from. It took me a while to discover the part it connected to, which was a little further back and went into the bulkhead, I managed to get my left arm down between, lost the pipe a couple of times, but finally pushed it together, which initially seemed a bit loose, so I pushed a little harder and felt it click. I then tested it and smiled, it is now working, knowing where this is now means I could check and reconnect it in less than a minute if it goes in the same place again, but knowing where too look first was 90% of the battle, thanks again to a great guide.
  2. Thanks, links at the top worked fine for me, May 2012. I never got an owners manual with my Fabia, used to borrow one from a neighbour when needed, but he has since replaced his car, so it is good to have a copy myself.
  3. Hi all I finally decided to sign up, used your forum via google and other sites for about a year now and had my Skoda Fabia about 2 and a half years, prior to this I owned 2 Passats, but as I no longer needed such a big car I decided to try out a Skoda. I have found it to be just as good as the Passats, the only thing I would say it that the quality of finish on some interior body parts are not as good, but this it minor when you consider it to be a few thousand cheaper than a similar VW. I used to work in the parts trade for an idependent VW/Audi specialist back in the 80s for several years and I still have some of my old contacts from those early days, which come in handy, but I am hoping that I will make some new friends and contacts here. I can remember when VAG acquired Skoda, they have come a very long way and the old jokes from the time have long been forgotten, well almost... Since then I have worked in the computer trade for over 25 years and I now also teach karate, which I have been doing for over 7 years. I presently need to replace my passenger side window regulator, which went on me yesterday, with the window stuck open. I am also looking at replacing the wishbone bushes soon for the Seat Cupra ones, which I have already purchased. The guides here are great, much better than a Haynes manual, and if I get stuck I feel sure somebody here will help, or at least try to. I look forward to contributing where and when I can, I am no mechanic, but working in the parts trade at least gave me a good understanding of all the parts. Regards The Oracle UPDATE 21:10 26/05/2012 My passenger side window regulatoris now fixed, replcement full regulator cost me about £40 and used one of my old contacts and found a mechanic that replaced it for me for £30, it took him just over an hour and half. £70 all in, he could have got me the part for about £25, but that would have been Tuesday next week, then him fitting it next weekend, so £15 not really an issue. Anyway I am happy and he is going to let me know how much he can do the wishbone bushes for, but he needs access to ramps for this.
