  1. Thanks, If I can't get the Quantum Platinum 5W-40, can I use Castrol Edge 5W-40 Turbo Diesel instead? http://direct.asda.com/Castrol-Edge-5W-40-Turbo-Diesel-Engine-Oil---4L/001029421,default,pd.html Many thanks for the response!
  2. Hi, I need to by a fuel filter for my Octavia and I am not sure what size I need. When I search EuroCarParts or CarParts4Less by the registration number I get filters with different dimensions, e.g: 1) Diameter(mm): 83 Height [mm]: 143 Inner Diameter [mm]: 38 Outer Diameter [mm]: 83 2) Diameter(mm): 78 Height [mm]: 135 Inner Diameter [mm]: 11,5 Outer Diameter [mm]: 78,5 3) Diameter(mm): 84 Height [mm]: 118,5 Inner Diameter [mm]: 18,5 Outer Diameter [mm]: 83 4) Diameter(mm): 84 Height [mm]: 118,5 Inner Diameter [mm]: 18,5 Outer Diameter [mm]: 83 I tried to find the spec in the official manual but without the luck.
  3. Hi, I am new to all of this and I am really struggling to understand what oil type my Octavia 1.9 TDI needs. I have read countless articles/posts and they just made me more confused. I want to maintain the service book so I plan to service the car once a year. According to the official manual: 1.9 l/77 kW TDI PD VW 505 01 1.9 ltr./77 kW TD PD DPF VW 507 00 but when I search for those oils online they are usually referred as 5W30 or 5W40 - what does it mean? www.carparts4less.com proposes me 5W30 oils after entering my registration number. Do you think this oil will do the job? http://www.carparts4less.co.uk/cp4l/c/Skoda_Octavia_1.9_2005/p/car-parts/car-lubricants-and-car-fluids/lubricant-and-fluids/engine-oil/?521771861&1&d682f1d212f5b1eb5d37b57da707a44c42da7b7200fb23c6c3833a119c42c32d4102fecdee386bf8100382e32289f0df0d249adb5993d73d40e542be&000398
  4. Hi, I was driving my car yesterday and my rear wiper stopped working. It stopped suddenly in the middle of the rear window. I had to turn off the ignition and move it manually to its initial position. It doesn't rotate but the washer fluid still goes through. Can anyone have had similar problem? Is it the motor or something else? Thanks, Marcin
  5. Thanks but that didn't do a trick. I can unlock it only from my remote key. When I press the rubber button on the boot lid nothing happens, even though all doors are open Any more ideas? Thanks
  6. Hi guys, I have recently purchased my first car Skoda Octavia Elegance 2005. I really like this car so far but I think I have already found a fault. It looks like a handle on the boot lid doesn't work at all. Every time I press on it while the car is unlocked nothing happens and only way to open the car is by using button on the remote key. Did anyone of you had a similar problem? I will really appreciate your help! Thanks
