Re: new superb????

Superb 2 is a definite.

I think someone recently found a picture. It will be based on the same platform as the Audi A6, whereas the new Passat uses a Golf platform.

IIRC, it will be a hatch rather than saloon, and could be out late 2007/ early 2008.

Someone else might have more details.

All the Best
Chris

Re: new superb????

New passat uses the golf platofrm, are you sure i was fairly certain it wasn't based on the golf.

I had heard new octy and new superb were going to be combined, but no idea how much truth in this.

Re: new superb????

isn't the new Passat a B7 platform? i.e. same as the A6?

otherwise they've stretched the Golf platform massivly!

This was the same image they used when were speculating over the octy2, and is a photoshopped passat.

That looks ace! Of course it's not official, but some of the "guess sketches" for the new Fabia were fairly accurate. It has the Joyster front!

We're supposed to see a "design study" of the new Superb at Geneva with the real one being launched later next year.

There's a rumour that it will have a split hatch which opens as a saloon or hatch.

I like the look of it, like those front lights, remind me of the Phaeton - the car I would have if I could afford it!

The guv'nor at my local dealer mentioned about this two section hatch to me a while ago. Sounds an interesting concept, in theory.

I guess we will have to wait for Geneva for a confirmation of how the Superb 2 will look.

Superb "RS" is a new modell. 1.8T 142kw@5300rpm, 276Nm@3020rpm
Perhaps only for Greece.

That is the hottest looking VW product to date. Skoda screwed up with the Fabia, but that Superb is beyond description.

Re: new superb????

Well guys and galls my answer is bring it on the sooner the better as some nice woman (no disrespect) managed to remodel mine day before my birthday (pranged on 20th Dec), just had assessor round and waiting for the verdict, she was speeding and did nto see the slow traffic swerved to miss and connected with my rear end, spun me round 180 and 70 mph on the busy A12, I missed the barriers and all the traffic coming up behind me or as it ended up infront of me, (change of underpants job I can tell you) luckily there was a plain clothes police woman behind (infront) of me who saw it all.

And the driver admitted fault on the spot.

Keep you fingers crossed they can mend it.

This picture has slightly different lights. Maybe they are toying with a few designs and releasing them to see what feedback they get ( possibly from forums such as this one ! )
