This relates to Oct 2007, when the work was done. Also please note that, whilst the business has moved and changed name (and management), most of the staff "on the ground" are the old Queensborough Motors staff, so comments from there are still relevant.

Had a normal inspection service - cost under £100.

They warned me that I needed some brake work done soon, but made no effort to sell me parts, never mind try and get the business.

40_000 mile service, and brake fluid change.

All work done to a satisfactory standard, cleaned a blocked fanjet, and left me the unused half litre of screenwash. Total cost £250 or so.

They didn't seem to have washed the car this time though, although they seemed a little quieter than this time last year.

Just used this garage, found them to be very indifferent and the blonde lady behind the service desk was civil....no more than that!

Booked the car on 5 days ago explaining I would wait on the car rather than leaving the dealership,

Arrived 9am, waited an hour before the car was taken to the workshop, car returned to front of garage by mechanic at 1030am.

I assumed it was awaiting a part or further work, by 1130 I decided to ask if they were waiting on a part etc as I had seen the car sitting there for an hour and a half.

She checked and said "no, that's your car ready" no explaination of why she hadn't let me know and no apology for wasting an hour and a half of my time.

Last time I drive a 100 mile return journey to a dealership who's staff at the front desk think they can treat customers like this.

Would be different I'm sure at most other dealerships (I hope) I'll be trying Ingrams of Ayr the next time I need a dealers services.

They have three receptionists - there's a guy who used to be in the Southern branch with a shaved head - he's good. Although I think he may have left as I haven;t seen him there for months... There's the blonde lady you describe above and I agree with you - she's cold; impersonal but does at least get the job done. Then they have this new mid-twenties girl who is downright rude.

On one occasion she dumped the keys on the desk in front of me (rather than handing them to me) mubling something about it being "out front". Then, when I came back in saying, "no, it isn't", she made a huge show in front of everyone about having to get off her backside to walk me out to my car. She didn't like the fact that it was actually hidden away in their secure yard round the back.

Last week, she was just downright rude when I refused to let her "clear the warranty job" (whatever that means) when I'd had a call from the technican (who was also pretty rude) saying they couldn't fix the problem (yet again).

So both times I had to deal with her, I've been left thinking "how rude."

I'm think I'm going to give up on them. Their showroom has been deserted for the last six months - and I'm talking about never seeing customers other than those for service in there - and I'm starting to see why. Shame because the southern branch that they closed and merged with this one was really good.

The only thing in their favour is that their showroom is walking distance from the city centre.

Well, on going under the bonnet for the first time since the above service, I find they've spilled oil all over the engine cover around the filler neck, the "collar" around the neck had a nice puddle of oil sitting in it, and they've actually overfilled the engine (reading above the max mark on the dipstick).

I think that seals it for this dealer...

I havnt bought my cars from this dealer because i find the staff rude and cheeky

I was looking at the new MK2 superb and the sales guy asked how much money i had in my wallet so i went else where for my car. The service team are just as bad, no customer service at all, everything they do seems an effort. When i had my A4 Octavia i asked what the ASR button was for on the dash the girl from service told me i don't know i will find out she came back and said "you would use it if you went rallying"

Forgot to add Henry's cannot do tracking on a Octavia A4 as its not part of a service, i then asked them what do i do when the front tyres are worn because of the tracking they said to "go else where" and that came from the service manager!

Had Girl friends Octavia A4 at Henrys yesterday for its 30k service.

Had a missed call from them and tried to call them back got a recorded message saying Henrys is now closed, tried calling them for 20mins and this went on then the phone rang out.

We decided to go up incase they was a problem. Got there said to the service dept about their phone was told the girl that answers the phones is on holiday and no one knows how to work the telephones

Great price £49.95, asked if they checked brake pads as rear were still original was told by the girl behind the desk we only notify the customer if they are 80% worn so i asked how worn are they, she didn't know so she had to ask a guy to come out and had a look in the car park he said they are ok, 35% worn. Got home checked the levels washer fluid was 3/4 empty and they had spilt oilt at the filler and never cleaned it up. Asked do they not wash cars any more was told they dont wash taxis any more as they have only one car wash guy.

Sorry to hear some bad stuff about Henry's. I got my car 2+ years ago from the then Maxwell Road Dealership and the service was exemplary.

What with Henry's getting some bad press and the legendary "couldn't care less" attitude of the service guy at Park's it's off to the independents for me.

It's not just car dealerships, though, is it? Service standards, in many sectors, are abysmal.

afraid can understand maybe why by the looks Hendrys only have one garage now.

Bought my VRS1 from Maxwell st, taken back for warranty work 200mile round trip, coolant fault, 3 times before fixed, two thermostats, seal and then a temp switch finally to fix it.

Wife took it in for a service and left it with them, got phone call later to say needed 4 new tyres, front/rear brake disc's/pads and a wish bone bush. Lucky she said no to getting them changed. When through MOT after with no problem and service at Ingram Ayr 10000 miles and near a year later and all ok.

Be warned maybe different garage but same people in charge, check before you get work done.

For this the only reason for not getting another VRS, may go for focus st,

Dont expect much of a customer service experience unless you get off on being ignored, being talked down to and generally given the impression you are an annoyance that they have to deal with. Dont buy a Skoda if your expecting some sort of afterservice, thats been our mistake. How the hell Skoda has came second to Lexus in the Auto Express dealership survey on this offering is beyond me?????? Maybe this part of Scotland is just unlucky. Badly needing Customer Service training! Have mentioned this to Skoda Customer Service too. Only use them as the car is under warranty, slightly better than our original dealer and location is more convenient.

Last service they told me i needed new consol bushes - had a mechanic friend look at them, said they were fine. They also told me I needed new rear discs; I took them off to have a look, a bit of rust and build-up but fine. Don't believe what they tell you...

Had a control & emissions warning light come on, they had the car for 6 days before they managed to get rid of the light. Charged me £175 and the light came back on the next day. I then took it to an independent who found out what was wrong and fixed it the same day. I feel like I have been had and will complain. I thought the main dealer would have a better idea of what was wrong. I will not go back.

Car has just come back from here after the Limp Mode saga. Found the staff very friendly and helpful.

The car was sorted by Roy, a good friend of mine from another forum. Would happily use them again.

I've only used Henrys once and would quite happily return tbh. Roy fitted my new Dials into the Fabia and came out to introduce himself and have a chat cause he seen the Scottish VAG sticker on my window

Staff are friendly and helpful and i would and have reccomended them to others

I last used Henry's earlier this year to fix a electrical problem in my vRS drivers door. They diagnosed the problem and promptly made my wallet £300 lighter, assuring me they knew what the fault was and it would definitely be fixed. Unfortunately the fault remained and they said that the fault was diagnosed by the computer and they can only offer advice based on that. Their advice now was to book the car in again and they would look to replace other parts on a trial and error basis but expect me to pay for all of this. In the end I threatened them with legal action and got a refund of the labour costs for the work they had already incorrectly completed and I will not return there.

two separate positive experiences in the last month

1 – breakdown, failed injector. They had the car for a week and once the part arrived fixed the within 1 working day. Good service throughout, no issues with hire car via Skoda assist they extended it cover the 7 days and cleaned my car before handing it back. Had a follow up call 2 weeks later to ask if all was ok.

2 – 1 service (2011 petrol vrs), quoted £150 when I called to compare prices with other scottish dealers, there's was the best I could find, collected the car all in order and final bill was £108, they also cleaned the car again.

My other half and I popped in here yesterday and dealt with sales advisor Michael Stachura who was great. We haven't done a deal yet but return on Tuesday for a test drive. I found him to be very down to earth and not your typical pushy sales person.

Bought my Yeti Elegance in June - Sales people pretty good. Car has a rattle - technician came for drive with me and has identified source. Took car in as arranged but they couldn't complete the repair on the day as it's a bigger job than first thought. Car was returned washed and goes in next week for final fix. I hope. So far have found them to be helpful and efficient. - Will update when car fixed.

A very positive experience today.

I hadn't used them since I parted with my MKI Fabia vRS - Sean and Donald at the service desk were top-notch - sorted out a two-year extended warranty on my MKII vRS (also got the MOT done today), despite the fact that I bought the car from another dealer (who failed to get back to me!).

I will be getting future services carried out there.

I had my Yeti serviced here (10k) at the weekend.

All went well, very courteous on reception and kept me informed as to how long it would take etc.

I will certainly be taking the car back there next year for the 20k.
