I've just picked up a new Superb Estate from Colbornes and am delighted with the efforts of Jon Marshall and his colleagues there. A fair PX price, a decent price on the new one and, above all, friendly and very capable service throughout. Following a good-natured haggle and frequent updates during the ordering and build process, the car was delivered bang on schedule with the correct spec including KESSY and the panoramic roof. The best new-car buying experience I've ever had. Well done.

I've just collected my new Octavia VRS estate from Colbornes in Woking and can't be happier with the service provided. Terry James was the salesman I dealt with who could not have been more helpful. I just turned up at the dealer one afternoon unannounced but was offered a test drive straight away and when we went out I was left to choose my own route and go as far as I wanted. On returning to the dealership there was no pressure and all my questions were answered by knowledgeable staff.

When I decided I wanted to order again there was no hard sell and we came to an agreeable price very quickly.

I was kept up to date throughout the build period and when I wanted to add another option Terry managed to sort it even though it was officially to late to change the factory order.

When the time came to collect the car again everything was perfect all the timings were done to suit me, and nothing was to much trouble.

This is the first new car I have purchased and found the whole experience simple and hassle free. I am sure when the time comes I will be going back to Colbornes.

Overall an excellent dealership who I would recommend to anyone.

Got a quote for my first variable service from Colbornes today and they wanted £303. I wanted to use them as they are convenient for my commute but I'm afraid not at that price.

Local (to home) and supplying dealer have quoted £195. Colbornes say they will price match a written quote but who gets a written quote for a service?

I'm willing to pay a little more for the convenience of being near London but 50% more? No thanks.

Surely £303 is completely over the top?

My car went in yesterday for some minor warranty work. The service was excellent and I was kept updated. On collecting the car it had been fully cleaned, and they had even left a free gift in the car which was a nice surprise!

There is a sign outside the old Renualt dealership that closed down a couple of years back between Guildford & Godalming stating that Colbournes VW & Skoda opening soon. So I wonder if the Woking site is closing?

Ooo. That sounds pretty good for me, it'll be a simple bus ride to/from town if/when I get the car serviced.

The Woking site is very convenient for the station, about 6-8 mins from it, however the one thing about it is that it's small, whereas the Peasmarsh site is much, much bigger!

What a pain!

I phoned them the other day and they were so helpfull I had decided that I would use them when I needed a service etc, as I do not have a local dealer. Woking was OK but Peasmarsh is just too far to travel. :rain:

Went to see these guys on Saturday to get a quote for a new petrol Octavia VRS with DSG and they told me I would have to wait at least 6 months for a custom build with DSG. Every other dealer has said about 12 weeks, even saw the lead time on the screen at one dealer. Really unimpressed and leads me to believe they are trying to flog existing stock.

In all fairness, the guys helping were from the VW Van section but still... My family have been using Colbornes VW since they first started so the attitude was a little surprising. They also offered me the worst part-ex on my old car, two grand less than the next lowest. Went to Garland Motors in Aldershot in the end.

I had my car serviced today at Colbornes, this was the second service they have now done on the car. They called me to book the service quoting an excellent price including a discount for being a repeat customer. I didn't bother calling any other dealers as the price quoted appeared such good value.

On arriving today I was welcomed and pointed in the right direction to the service desk where all my details were confirmed along with the price quoted confirmed again. The courtesy car was then brought round for me (Skoda Rapid) and I was shown around it confirming the condition.

When I returned to collect my car it had been valeted and was waiting for me, I was charged the price quoted, even though they had replaced the windscreen wipers. All the staff were extremely polite and friendly and the service was excellent.

I also took the opportunity to look at the cars in the showroom, I wasn't overly drawn to the new Octavia but really liked the Suberb estate there, although I think my wife will be happy as none of the sales staff approached me despite spending about half an hour looking at it, as I may of found it hard to resist!! ??

Called Colbornes today to quote me for a standard (variable) 69k mile service on my octavia vrs (2007).

I was quoted £524.... But with a generous discount they could offer me they offered me a reduction to £491.

Spark plugs and brake fluid would be extra!

As you might've guessed I laughed down the phone, told the young lad where he could stick it and booked it in with my local trusted garage (ACK Autos in Ripley, Surrey) who are doing it for £170 (including spark plugs and air filters).

That's the first and last time Colbornes will be getting a phone call from me!

I asked for a quote for a service too and found the prices pretty high, though they did say they would offer a price match, but I was pretty offended by the price.

I have also since contacted them on the contacted us form asking to be emailed back (had to put a phone number down, but didn't want to be called because of work), and they still called, and never got an email until I made another request through the form. Felt like the request wasn't read properly.

I went to a locally recommended garage in Byfleet instead. Half the price, and done in a morning. I don't need my car cleaned and all the extra stuff!

I collected my new Octavia VRS estate from Colbornes last Friday. This is the second new car that I have purchased from Colbornes and the service was excellent once again. I dealt with Mike Don Carolis throughout who was excellent and never tried to push for a sale but was very helpful and answered all my questions.

I would definitely recommend Colbornes and hope to use them again in the future.

I found the salesman I was dealing with very polite & helpful, however the sale manager sort of derailed the deal, when he said about if I ordered the car because of the waiting time the value of my trade in would drop by a whopping £2k in 3 months.

Talk about wanting your cake & eat it, needless to say that I went over to Garlands and got a cracking & vastly superior deal from Nick over there, very happy, but very disappointed that Colbornes wanted things both ways, especially as it's the nearest dealership to me by quiet a bit.

Just be aware that the salesmen are good, it's the sales manager who interfered is the problem.

I called the service department this morning as the airbag light came on. The first date I was offered with a courtesy vehicle was over 3 weeks away. When I said this wasn't acceptable they suggested I just dropped my car off and they would then treat it as a breakdown and hopefully be able to look at it over the next 48 hours but no promises.

I therefore called Garlands at Aldershot who booked it straight in for tomorrow.

It's a shame that Colbournes couldn't have been more helpful, I've now purchased two cars from them and always previously used them for servicing. Oh and they still owe me £80 from when I purchased my new car in October when I was charged for colour maxidot, even though it included with the Columbus sat nav. I gave up chasing this in January after I didn't get anywhere.

I had to book a 1st service for my vRS with them because Garlands couldn't do it, booked online.

When I turned up for it, they tried to charge me a whopping £221.99 for it and I said that this was incorrect and after some negotiation I got it down to £189, so with some degree of resignation I handed over the keys and let them do it.

However whilst I was waiting I returned to the online booking system for servicing and found that it was still offering me a 1st service at Lookers for £149.99, so armed with this I took my tablet with the information on it to the service desk and challenged the £189 price even further and when the guy on the desk used the online booking system got the same price £149.99, he said it can't be done for that, as it's a new car, but as I pointed out, I booked it online for a 1st service and that's the price for it.

Rather unsurprisingly when he called me back to say that the car was ready, I was charged £148.99!

Just be warned that they may try this on with you, so make sure that you book online and make sure that they don't try and charge you more than what the online booking system quotes you, take a printout of the booking confirmation and price.

I have just booked my car in here for a DSG oil and filter change because unfortunately Garlands couldn't get me in for a couple of weeks and I need use of the car working away.

Lady on the phone confirmed fixed price is £179.00.. the online booking system says £216.. lets see what happens..

No complaints. Especially liked the car health check video sent to my phone.

No issues with mis quoted prices.

I will probably use them again.
