  • Coudl you tell me what stats you put in to calibrate it. I don't know where to start.

  • I use battery monitor pro on my S3 without any problems. Sent from my Galaxy S3, not a Crapple!

  • Just downloaded Skoda 3d HD logo from Google Store - great live wallpaper for your phone and looks really impressive.

Oh buggar! Sorry to hear that but glad you're ok. Thats the main thing.

I remember on my G1 there was a way to integrate a little app into the phones ROM so that even if someone did a data wipe (but not a re-flash) the app would still work. Basically it would detect that a different sim card was used in the phone and then start sending txts with it's GPS co-ordinates contained within! Pretty nifty.

Just looked at the wavesecure app. Seems pretty cool. Might be worth looking into any free alternatives too.

Wave secure is the dogs.

Even if someone gets your phone working without a SIM, they first get the splash page that the phone may be lost or stolen along with your personal message. It then activates wifi & GPS and tries to find an open wifi point to call the servers. IF you've logged into the website and instructed a remote wipe or track then this will happen.

You can also sound an alarm, and auto lock on airplane mode or SIM swap plus track the phone number of any inserted SIM.

Theres a news story on their site on how someone in london tacked their stolen phone, which lead to an armed police raid and stolen property and drugs being recovered! ;)

Well at the moment im watching the far more low-tech solution of keeping an eye on latitude lol although the battery was flat anyway and i had mobile internet turned off.

Think ill defo invest in wavesecure for the replacement!

Replacement?

Aha..!!

Great little Gforce/bhp meter, have I mentioned its free? :giggle:

Ok the BHP may not be so precise as it only uses accelerometers etc and not gps yet, but its under development (slow but still moving I believe..?)

On Col's security issue, I've just invested in WaveSecure as my Milestone has now landed B)

Seemed to offer the right options, so I went and subscribed. At the moment there's a 25% off promo code of GOAL - so with the current exchange rate it worked out at £10 for the year. Well worth it IMHO.

Tested it and it's bloody impressive - certainly does what it says on the tin and the tracking on the website's pretty cool too.

Is there a version of the gravity tiles game?

If you don't know what I'm on about this should give you the idea

The closest that I can think of is bebbled.

Cheers roo, that's more or less perfect! emoticon-0148-yes.gif

Just trying out wavesecure seems brilliant and very cheap at £10 for the year!

Cheers for the heads up on that one steve.

No worries Phil - we've got to protect these nice devices of ours haven't we? :)

And after Col's 'incident' it kinda brings it home how much valuable info we carry around with us these days...

Might put this up as a separate thread in Tech Shed actually, as people might not look in here.

Cheers,

Steve

Stalker! lol :giggle:

I'm not actually too fussed about rooting this one tbh.

It does a lot more out of the box than my G1 ever did!

Froyo is due for official release this summer so can wait till then for the ability to install to SD card.

Besides don't think I could go back to android without Sense now. There are a lot of useful tweaks that HTC sense adds to the phone.

The the next update is Gingerbread which will apparantly have a totally re-designed OS and pretty much remove the need for third party software over the main OS such as Sense and the one that Sony Ericsson have on the xperia x10.

Have been using Trapster myself.

Is there a definitive facebook app? With a widget that will alert you to messages?

My wife has something on her DEXT where she has a universal inbox that drops text, emails and FB msg into the same widget that updates with all new messages. I want something similar on my HTC phone

Do you have a phone with HTC sense on?

if so then you should have friend stream which will do all that for you.

I don't think I can get friend stream on my tattoo. I'm still on Android 1.6

Ah right.

Not sure to be honest.

None that I have come across.

I think the tattoo will be getting the eclair update (2.1) at some point which would also bring HTC Sense with it.

Normally I would suggest rooting it and installing a custom/modded 2.1/2.2 rom but they are still in development really as far as the tattoo is concerned. Don't think the camera works yet.

Have a poke around on XDA Devs. Plenty of info there about modding and just updates about forthcoming software upgrades etc:

XDA Devs

Go to the Forum section and search for for device in there.

Hope that helps.

Phil

I'm running Sense as standard but I don't think we (tattoo owners) have any hope of getting an official release of eclair. Don't really want to root it now anyway. I'll login to xdev again and have a look. I didn"t think getting FB msgs direct to ohone would be a big ask

I want to know why I can't delete the crap called facebook & twitter, I don't have an account with either nor do I want one, so it's taking up valuable memory space. emoticon-0116-evilgrin.gif

It really isnt if you arent using it. The apps are a few mb at most. More likely sub 1mb

Agreed,

The reason is that they are a part of the firmware, not standalone installs.

What I do object to is HTC 'footprints' starting up at boot time. I know it just sits there idle, but it still bugs me.
