Problem shifting in to second gear

A couple of times since I got my Yeti I have experienced a problem changing up in to second gear: nasty grinding noises came from the general vicinity of the gearbox and I had to go in to neutral and drop revs before it would engage the gear cleanly. In both cases I was trying to make the manoeuvre...well, I suppose I should say "briskly". The common factor seems to have been that I was in the process of turning reasonably sharply to the left: the first time it was entering a roundabout, the second time coming out of a side road.

Has anyone else experienced anything like this? Or do I just need to concentrate better on co-ordinating my gear changes  ?

I fixed that within a couple of weeks: more right foot!

Does anyone else find that the 2 litre diesel pulls surprisingly strongly at idle, particularly when the engine is still warming up? I occasionally find myself having to back off on the clutch when slowing down as the engine seems quite eager to keep going.

Yes, its something to watch out for in the cold weather, especialy when in stop start traffic. Its set up that way to stop the engine cutting out in the cold (I think).

I have just bought a yeti monte carlo 4 x4 and cannot get used to the gears. They don't go in smoothly but I don't think I am a bad driver. I have had a 1.2 petrol yeti with no problems any suggestions

Have it looked at, I've never had a problem with my Yeti gearboxes.

That;s becos the 2.0L engine has a turbo charger and this gets activated at around 1600 RPM
