my last set of fronts were maxxis victra's, and they rocked!!!! even in these monsoon conditions with the inside tread at 1.6 mill they still rock, and grip like hell!!! but sadly my local maxxis dealer says there are none available to order, they are out of stock at the manufacturer :(

I wanted a similar mid-range tyre... so have settled for the Khumo KU39.... I've read some good reviews, and skud vRS seems to use them to good effect on his fast mark I octy vRS....

so at £66 each fitted, they go on on wednesday.....

tyre review say not as good as the maxxis on dry grip, but better on wet grip... so hope i can live with the compromise....

anybody review the KU39's for me?!

The grip was no good becasue he/she was spinnig the front wheels, a little to much, however, if he/she had spun them more they would of only lasted 30days, so Kumho are no good. .

Grip was just like the 452s I put on the rear when I got them, have now got them on the front.

I don't spin the wheels etc and I check tire pressures weekly, around 3 months on 452s and they are still like new. I had kuhmos on my old Sierra and they did exactly the same thing kuhmos are poo for tire life

I have used KU31's and the newer KU39's and I found them to be a brilliant tyre considering the price. I always get between 25,000kms and 30,000kms from them (fronts)

the feel is good....

I would however describe it as jenson did his mcclaren at the british GP....

"nothing wrong with how the car feels, handles, or drives, just not as fast as the others!"

lol....

thats a bit what its like! they are good, sharp steering, grips ect ect....
but with the maxxis Z1's I could literally defy the laws of physics on a dry day!

its like this on a hot summers day.... if I took you out in my car with the kumhos on, you would say "nice hot hatch, handles well , balanced, decent grip ect ect "

if I did it with the maxxis (which I did for a brisky member onlast years camping do) you would say "****!!! I'm going to die!!!! bloody hell how did we possibly get around that corner and yet ACELLERATE half way through>?!?!?" lol.....

Lifted from  my thread in Octy 2:

Vred Sessanta's hard to get hold of at moment.  Vred Ultrac Vorti XL's seem to get amazing reviews. Anyone got these?

Cheers   (Apologies for hijack!)

can only find one review (on persons opinion) http://www.tyrerevie...ltrac-Vorti.htm

wierdly, the tread pattern in the picture is almost exactly the same as the kumho KU39's!

asymetrical, solid on the outside for dry grip, with water voiding on the indide

after a few more thousand miles gonna update this... while wet grip is good , and equal to the maxxis.... (and only £66 a corner)

dry grip?! 50% of the maxxis..... its so weak on ultimate corniring grip n the dry in comparison to the maxxis.... wont be buying them again .
