My tyres are no where near due for change but i plan ahead, i was looking to buy these tyres a while back but came across the Uniroyals so got them instead, now these are wearing pretty quick and im not helping that with my heavy right foot but i cannot fault them at all.
The Falkens are cheaper and have a similar tred pattern, how do people rate them? Are they ok for wear? Personally i think the tyre reflects the price, the Falkens are a good £30 cheaper then the uniroyals, this to me says their not as good and i do like to throw the car round in corners.
I know there pretty popular in the VAG scene for some reason, so they must be half decent?

Get around 13k out of fronts, which is better than any other tyre I have run, grip level as good as Toyos in dry weather imo, a little less when wet.

I did 20k a year in my first Octavia tyres were nearly new when I got the car, and when I sold it 18 months on the tyres had some life left in them. So easily got 30k out of a set!

Most likely a really hard compound, a good average tyre wear for a nice a sticky tyre is about 10-15k
Yours may have lasted a while but they need to keep up with the punishment they get off me and nothing ruins a car more then rubbish tyres

The FK452's are reasonably hard, but they grip very well

Buuut the Uniroyals are sooo good in the wet, hence the name but they tackle standing water like its not there, why cant Mr Uniroyal make them last longer?

He can, but then it doesn't grip, if you can find any, Syron a company in Germany make a tyre called race 1+, when tested it's getting better results than many of the leading brands for a lot less £'s. .

You have also admitted to never doing over a ton lol
I do constant stop start in traffic and around SW crappiest roads braking, turning reversing etc, I did 150miles on Friday between The Diff, The Port and the Valleys, filled up Wednesday 5.00pm gone by 7.00pm Friday.
It takes it's toll on everything including me lol

You not going to replace them with 452's again Andy? I'm looking for new tyres and trying to decide between 452's or vredestein.

I'd have the Falken ZE912s though, cheap but perform like a tyre twice the price!

Do not know how the new ones compare but as the 452s were a galactic step forward over the 451s, I'm positive Falken will have got it right.
