My supplying dealer, purchased my September 2011 vRS from them back in July. Everything went through well. I dealt with Gary in sales and he was very professional and efficient.

Got a reasonable trade in against my 05 A3 and was able to negotiate on the vRS.

Sales procedure was smooth and Gary went the extra mile by dropping off the paperwork for my private plate at the DVLA office (saved me a trip).

Have since used them for the first service on the vRS, as I wanted it swapped to fixed servicing. This was carried out efficiently whilst I waited and the car was correctly set to fixed servicing.

So no qualms in going back there for sales or servicing.

The guys in parts were also very helpful.

Took my octy vrs tdi in for a cambelt change on Fri morning and after problems with the tensioner had to wait over the weekend and then get my car back on the monday lunchtime.

Overall happy with the work that was carried out although the communication from the service dept could have been better,

As my supplying dealer, they were OK - my only criticism being that they didn't read emails properly, denying that they had information which they'd been given up to 3 weeks before. After sales support? Zero.

Three times I have emailed the guy who sold me the car (the first time was only a couple of days after delivery) asking him to quote for a winter wheel/tyre package - I have yet to receive even an acknowledgement, three months later. I've now gone elsewhere (outside the Skoda network).

Ive just put my Superb in for uts first service this morning. Staff were polite and helpful, got offered a free coffee as soon as the sales department was open (thats the only coffee machine). Car seen to straight away and washed before I got it back. I wantef to get another bottle of screen wash whilst I was there so I visited the parts department where I was given a free bottle as the parts chap said they had overstock.

I had a happy visit and would recommend.

I purchased my vRS from Sparshatts in Fareham, and am currently purchasing a Octy mkIII from Botley.

The vRS has always been serviced by Botley and I find them very helpful and I have had the same experience with the part department.

Sale is a slightly different matter, but that may just be the salesman I am dealing with, since I know of other who have good things to say about their saleman.

A few experiences In case this helps anyone:

1) I purchased a beautiful 3yr old facelift vrs October last year from Sparshatts Botley.

The entire purchase was made entirely in spite of the salesman I was dealing with. Utterly bizarre sales techniques that I would expect from a dodgy backstreet sales yard at best, not a UK main dealer. In the end I bought the car because I found the previous owner on this forum who was able to vouch for the car and its history without any bias.

2) Contacted Skoda UK customer services to ask about extending the 1yr approved used warranty that came with the car (I was told at the time of purchase by sales staff that this was possible). Was asked to contact any Skoda dealer who would be able to facilitate this.

Contacted sales dept. at Botley and was categorically told that this was "impossible." Complete disinterest overall. Apparently I am one of many, many customers they have to break this news to all the time....

Contacted Skoda Approved Warranty Services (Car Care Plan limited) direct who supply said warranty. A renewal pack comes in the post about a month before or you can call them again direct to renew over the phone. Disbelief as to why I was being told this was impossible.

It took me less than 10 minutes to find this information and I don't even sell Skoda Approved Used Cars for a living!!......

I had a good experience when I first went to Botley, got my third service done on my Monte on the Skoda fixed price which my local dealer wouldn't do. I was suitably impressed that I went to them to trade in for another Monte. I got a good price and very happy with the way it went. Since then I've had 2 not so good experiences with them.

1) Picked the new car up and noticed it 'pulled' left so rang them and he said monitor it, so I kept him updated that it didn't improve. I recently found a thread on here and emailed him, he was 'going to speak to the techs and get back to me', that was a month ago, not heard since. So when I spoke to Skoda UK recently about my vRS and mentioned the 'pulling', they said it was known, not common, but known about and to get it looked at under warranty. Trouble is I've done too many miles for it to be covered by warranty now but have been assured it will be sorted if needed, if Sparshatts had responded when asked then I would have been covered still.

2) Had a call from a man this morning re my old Monte which is still for sale, he asked me a few questions about it eg. did I have any problems, what sort of use did it get etc. I told him it was a driving school car, hence the high mileage. Apparently Sparshatts told him the high mileage was due to me 'making regular trips to Greenwich'. Seeing as I live on the Isle of Wight and it would cost me £40+ to get to mainland England, it couldn't be further from the truth. Now I know about 'sales talk' but this has really angered me because they told me they would be obliged to tell a customer it was an ex driving school car.

Just my experience but thought I'd share.

Wow long time since a review here

I contacted them through Carwow and the salesman Ben gave me a very competitive deal a lot cheaper than my local dealers.

Car was ordered 5/2/15 and arrived 31/3/15 a factory order , very quick and I was kept very well up to date at all points by email and/or phone

Smooth transaction and car was as described

Would recommend

Unlikely to use for service since I live 1.5 hours away

Update - Called Meadens who quoted me £560 for a cambelt and water pump change.

Sparshatts very good on the phone. Booked me a loan car and straight in at the fixed price of £459. Will report back after December 1st to let you know how it goes!

Final follow up - The place was undergoing refurbishment and a new showroom on the Skoda side. Cars and staff all over the place, which was quite amusing.

They were brilliant to deal with. I had one chap who took the car in and kept me updated. They did a little health check thing with all green scores and gave it back to me with it's new cambelt and water pump early in the afternoon. Had a Fabia Estate courtesy car which was quite nice.

Would happily go back - Recommended! (Plus I want to see the new show room!...)

Went back today for my MOT.

Slight hiccup to start - They lost my original booking for last Friday in the Skoda online booking system. Manager called me back and handled it personally to make sure that it was booked in for a while you wait slot today (Monday).

Dropped it off and it was straight in the workshop. I kicked back and had a hot chocolate and a look around the showroom. They called me over after 45 minutes and said it had passed. I thought they would try and quote for a pair of tyres but everything was green on the health check report and no MOT advisories.

They even offered to wash it, which I was surprised about, but I declined as I was pushed for time!

Fully recommended. I have been pleasantly surprised with my Skoda MD experience at Sparshatts. Will be back there for a service when it hits 58k.

The cost of the MOT was £39 there.

I ordered my car through Carwow and Sparshatts were the best price by a long margin.

I had a dealership in Birmingham try to match the offer, but could not even get close to the deal from Sparshatts.

I have found them to be friendly and professional, and they have helped me with a number of decisions, which I really appreciate. I am travelling a long way to collect the car, but the deal makes it worthwhile.

I can highly recommend them (especially Richard). He has a nice, laid back approach and this has helped to make my experience enjoyable and stress free so far. I am due to collect my new Skoda Superb SEL Executive 1.4 Tsi ACT on Saturday and look forward to the handover.

Very dissatisfied with Sparshatts of Botley. We bought en ex-demo MkIII Fabia recently. After a few weeks the oil service light has come on and they won't even do that out of courtesy. We were told we should have arranged that when we bought the car. How is one supposed to know iif a car needs an oil service BEFORE the warning comes on?!
Paid extra for the lifeshine (interior and exterior) but as far as I can tell the interior wasn't treated and the exterior I'm doubtful about also.
Still waiting for the logbook (V5) after almost six weeks of ownership.
We will in future be using Winchester Skoda or Meadens of Sway.

I took my 2015 Octavia III to Sparshatts of Botley yesterday for it's first variable service, we had purchased it used from them in July (we refused the extra Lifeshine offered - and when it's rained it's clear to see that the previous owner had already  had it treated so that would have been money wasted).

Based on posts in the Octavia III forum I had previously emailed them details of some problems I had been having with the Amundsen (zooming automatically even when in manual zoom, and occasionally failing to read a USB stick that had been in use for sometime when restarting) and which when other owners mentioned to their dealers they had updated the firmware to version 0490.

I was disgusted with their response which was that as there were no fault codes (neither of those problems will generate a fault code as they are due to a software bug not a system fault) they couldn't do anything and they further insisted that 0475 is the latest version of Amundsen firmware.

Well, this morning I have updated the Amundsen firmware myself to 0490 (thanks to member aki78) - so Sparshatts saying that 0475 is the latest firmware was either a lie or caused by incompetence. Either way it gives me no confidence that I can trust Sparshatts, so they won't be seeing my Octavia again.

My car came new from there (not bought by me)

When I looked through the paper work I did chuckle at the price they charged the previous owner for a set of discs pads and tyres.

Probably no different to any other main dealer but I hope they lubed up before receiving the bill.

I do not recommend Sparshatts of Botley - at all!

Crazy, but after waiting around for an hour just to even get a test drive they really need to obtain more staff...or a better way to sort their cars out.

There was then another hour wasted of us just sitting around whilst the sales manager tried to find out various things about the car, what deal he could offer, what price is acceptable from us....soooo slow!

In the end I did purchase an Octavia from them and already I have had issues.  They are so poor at answering emails or phone calls with requests. Even obtaining information about the car you wish to purchase seems to be too much for them.

They don't seem to know the spec correctly without having to visit the car each time I ask them something.

It was difficult to obtain any discount from the purchase price.  This might be fair enough but with another Skoda dealer we did have a bit of negotiation on the price.

When I collected the car and returned home I had realised that the second key fob didn't work. Perhaps my fail since I should have tested everything (how far do you go though).

Worse than that, they had included the service book for the incorrect Skoda Octavia in the glove box.

So I have a service book from a completely different Octavia ... LOL!

You would think that from a main Skoda dealer these issues should be ironed out really.

Also the sunglasses holder compartment doesn't always latch and one of the fan jets is partly blocked. So it seems like their quality assurance and checking before selling their cars isn't the best.

Anyhow, worse still, I am still waiting for the correct service book from mid March (it was agreed there would be one with the car - I know that these days its all electronic) and the battery for my key fob. Again, yes I know I can supply my own battery, but I paid enough for the car so they can send me the battery!

It has turned out they sent the book and battery to the wrong address. Doh!

I was assigned a customer liason officer but we are still no further on. It is sooooo frustrating just constantly chasing!!

I would be very reluctant to have my car serviced there in all honesty. I will only return to them for the warranty items.

Overall...poor show and a let down!

I recently purchased my Rapid Spaceback SE Sport from Sparshatts at Botley.

I found them to be helpful and efficient. I dealt mainly with Ricky but Elliot was also helpful. I would recommend them, and we will go back there when my wife changes her car.

I've subsequently ordered parts and again, it was all sorted out efficiently.
