Car used :

2011 MK2 Skoda Fabia vRS 1.4TSi

Time needed :

About 10 minutes - Put the kettle on so it will be ready for when you're done!

Difficulty :

2/5 - An easy one.

**MAKE SURE THE ENGINE IS COLD WHEN INSTALLING OTHERWISE YOU COULD END UP GETTING BURNT**

You'll have this to start with :

Remove the engine cover by pulling up the two sides closest to you and pull towards you :

You then need to remove the cold air feed. For the one nearest the front do this by slightly pinching down on the top and bottom of the pipe and pulling out :

For the one connected to the airbox pinch both sides and pull out :

You should be left with this :

Behind the battery, the side closest to the wing you'll see a T30 Torx screw you will need to remove :

Next we need to remove the breather pipe from the induction piping, this is done by just giving it a gentle tug :

Grab your jaw locking pliers and put them on the metal clip that is holding the intake pipe on. BE CAREFUL NOT TO LET THIS SPRING BACK AS IT'S VERY STRONG. Hold down on the pliers as you gently pull off the pipe :

The airbox is now ready to be removed. You need to pull it up as there is a holding grommet on the other side to where the T30 bolt was and there is also a holding grommet on the rear of the box.

You should now have a lovely space for your new ITG kit! :

16.jpg

Best place to start with this is to put the cold air feed behind the headlight. You need to gently force as much of the intake pipe behind the headlight as possible so the ITG Can will fit in the space.

You can then connect the ITG kit to the engine :

Grab your large flat head screwdriver and tighten up the jubilee clip provided with the kit :

Push on the breather pipe :

Put the engine cover back on and VOILA! :

You now need to turn on your car and make sure there is no error lights showing. At this point I also ran a diagnostic check on the Torque Pro app, no errors thankfully :

Now go inside and treat yourself to a nice cuppa!

Great Guide with very good photos! Well done!

One question. Why didn't you connect the new pre filter intake into the original intake spigot but chose to put it behind the battery?

Ahhh good question!

Putting it to the front of the car on the slam panel seemed to restrict it when I tried it

You need to test it on a longer run/rollers as when the engine is worked really hard it may start sucking hot air from the engine bay-difficult to say really...

Was tested at Santa pod and for about a month driving, feels more powerful behind the headlight
