I found my Superb: She's called Audrey!

Recommended Posts

.Firstly many MANY thks for all that has given me tips / advice and your thoughts on my search for my 1st Skoda.

But, special thks for those (u know who u are! ) who pulled me away from the edge of just about to buy a Toyota Auris Hybrid!

But, finally I have found my baby!
I called her Audrey - coz it sounds a bit like the Aubergine colour she is....

...just a few pics when we went to see her and sealed the deal

Looks like you got an excellent deal there, Chan

Everything on my wishlist if money had not been an object. 10 plate with those spec and miles at that price - you got a good deal!

Looks a cracking car, well from what I can see anyway!

Hopefully you got a good deal and it had everything you wanted.

Don't know about you but this looks like a Superb with Merc CLS type rear!!!!

Did you get all that for your original budget? If so you got an excellent deal.

Thks Spence!

It was Below budget! :-)

But the dealer wouldnt budge from the asking price :-(

So we didnt get much out of the deal.

Still i got the toys i wanted!!!

Heated Windscreen + Park Assist + Electric Sunroof!

Definitely looks a good deal. That rust on the fuel filter housing is a known weakness (on the Octavia anyway) and as the lid can't be bought without the full housing it is quite a pricey repair. Worth popping some rust inhibitor such as Kurust on there before it gets any worse.

I don't specifically know the answer to your question but mine got more responsive with a firmware upgrade - lots of info on here and my-gti.com about that:see http://www.my-gti.com/3374/volkswagen-rns-510-firmware-upgrade-and-information for starters, or trawl the octavia and superb sections here.

If you can press and hold setup for about half a minute it MAY tell you your firmware, failing that you will need a VCDS scan.

The touch screen is not capacitive and does require some prodding to make it work.

Nice car by the way.

And there should be some grey plastic caps covering the wheel nuts, noticed they seem to be missing.

We also couldnt get the MDI (MP3 cable) to work with the iPhone :-(

Not tried the AUX socket.

Not check if rear passenger brolly is still there.

Has a full 16" spare! :-)

Is the shark fin aerial standard?

Some cars i see has a normal aerial screw INTO the shark fjn! Eeek!

My old man who works at a Skoda dealer says the Columbus does not like Iphones

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk whilst in a taxi rank
I thought someone on here said the bluetooth dont work with iphones?!!

I dont understand?

Pls enlighten me!

Have another look at the first pic you posted

From the bit of your aerial I can see that is not covered in snow this looks the same as that fitted as standard to my 12 plate car

I can confirm that screen on Columbus is more of a prodscreen than touchscreen, but the SD card slot is a great feature. I've got all my music on one 16Gb card, so no need to bother with cables or bluetooth (although playing music from phone via bluetooth connection works fine with Nexus 4 and with my old HTC Desire).

Congratulations on your purchase and enjoy!

It does indeed look nice… and in the best colour combination for the Superb IMO (Rosso Brunello / Ivory leather / wood trim) this is the colour I would of chose if

a/ I didn’t have to park it near a dusty car park and

b/ I could get away with ivory leather

Get some Dr. Leather wipes and the steering wheel and DSG knob will come up lovely again, so will the seats.

When was it built? pre May 2010 cars do not connect to an iPhone without the module under the drivers seat being upgraded, post May 2010 cars didn’t have the brolly as std (they dropped it from the spec list for a year).

Cheers Martin!

We have the same taste! :-)

I think its registered Mar2010.

So will chk if it has the brolly whn i pick her up nx week!

Will chk out Dr Leather - thks!

So apart from changes in 59-plate (DLRs etc)

There was another change in spec from May2010?

Do u know wot else was changed?

Thks
