it's the over tightened beyond 120nm spec that will kill them as when you try to loosen them it will start to slip and becomes rounded inside.  

 

Also had experience of a lost Mcgard locking bolt key a few months back and I didn't have the code either so I thought I was screwed but a quick call to the Mcgard customer service centre in Germany I was able to get replacement key made up and sent over within 3 working days for around £15, hence I recommend Mcgard ones.

Mcgard was my 1st choice.

But only chose Skoda due to price and it seems the Mcgard nuts are a bit shallow (the wavy groove)?

I could be wrong though ...

That old locking nut was not on very tight.. I tightened it!! LOL

Why did you need that bar?

I also changed all 4 locking nuts (well, my colleague did)

PS: Read my flat tyre adventure earlier in thread and u know why :-)
