Three mobile network

Featured Replies

Afternoon all :)

Im looking to change my mobile provider here in Ireland to the Three network. the benefits are unlimited calls, txts and internet and unlimited calls to landlines and mobiles here and in the UK and the best bit for me is that when im in the UK calling back to Ireland its also free...now the question....How good is the three network in the UK? Oh and another question is, they've offered me a Iphone 4s or an Iphone 5 ...which one is better?

Cheers

Kit

You'll need to find out the coverage for the areas you intend visiting if you want an accurate picture as reception varies. have you looked on teh 3 website?

My son was on 3 and has just swapped to Tmobile and he says the coverage is better. He's also changed from the 4s to a 5 and prefers the 5 though the only bit I know about that is I'm paying!

3 can be a pain to get away from once your contract is up, as SWMBO has had loads of problems trying to cancel hers

as has been said, it depends.

I was with t mobile and moved to three and have found the coverage a lot better. Interested in the free calls between RoI and UK though. I travel to Dublin every week and didn't realise this was available.

I live in Wales and use Three, recently they have improved to the extent they are better for me than Vodaphone (OK) and O2 (dire) both of which I had through work. Overall I've been very happy.

I was with Orange (as was) for 16 years and have not had any problems with coverage since changing to Three. Unlimited internet and no restrictions on using my iPhone 4S as a personal hotspot with iPads and laptops has proved very useful at times. But ultimately it is all down to good coverage wherever you will be using your phone - including home.

Just switched to three from t-mobile, partly because the 3G network is so much better than t-mobiles. With T-Mobile I would get around 6meg at best on 3G, with three the figure is more than double that. At work 3G consistantly gives me 14 meg download and 1.4 meg upload. Three will also be switching supported users to 4G for no extra charge when they start rolling it out across the UK.

I have a nano 3 sim in case EE doesn't have any service. Seems okay where I live.

On EE I get about 24mbps, using my new BT home hub & wifi I get about 22mbps and using my 3 year old time capsule & wifi I get 37mbps.

Not tried 3 yet.

A TapaTalk enabled phone was used to write this...

I moved to Three two years ago and have never looked back after being with O2, T-mobile, Orange and Vodafone.

The world of mobile phones has changed a lot over the past few years with a greater and possibly the primary emphasis on use shifting from Voice/Texts to Mobile data.

I have found three's network to be second to none for this with the speed of their data and the all you can eat too. Three are one of the only providers who dont block VOIP apps such as skype over 3G, i know Orange/T-Mobile/EE do. Also T-mobile throttle the throughput on their data packages.

Try an app on android or ios by root metrics.

It dependant on someone else using it on 3 or any other network you're looking at ,but might give you an idea.

cheers

Kit :)

I have been with all networks over the years, I have been with 3 now for over 8 years without any real problems, Network coverage is better than most for me (North East). I get around a lot with my job driving a truck and reception around the country is real good, Customer services can be a pain in the ar*e sometimes but they are very knowledgeable when technical info is needed.

I was a previous customer. The only problems I got were that I was on edge of 2G/3G reception so the phone would drop calls quite often as it switched between them. Other than that it worked fine and was quite cheap.
