Handbrake handle + button

Hi there.

I have run into this funny problem - the button on my handbrake comes off pretty easily, albeit I always push it back on, and it clicks into place. The handle doesn't stay in place either, i. e. i can pull it forwards and only the gaiter stops it from sliding off completely.

I don't want to use glue; is there a way to fix this other than replacing one/both of the parts, please?
