Carbon diffuser

Featured Replies

Interested in getting the rear diffuser on my vrs carbon wrapped, has anybody already done this and if so some pics would be much appreciated !

I was wanting it done a while ago when I was getting my vinyl wrap sorted on my vrs and the guy says he does not recommend it as it won't stick for long but who knows if it will work.

You'll need a painted surface for the vinyl to stick to otherwise it'll last 5 minutes.

Clear laquer coat, them Vinyl, then clear laquer?

No idea what Clear Lacquer you are going to get to take to the plastic, but since you are covering it,

why would you not use Plastic Primer after keying the surface.

If it takes OK, then wrap over it.

Take care what you get someone to use, or you use..

You'd have to ask a wrapping specialist dude I just know it doesn't stick to the black plastic trims

Keying would obviously important haha :) I've got a classic mini as my play thing which I've already resprayed twice, I think the primer would be a good option, just needs a rougher surface for the vinyl to obtain a good adhesive strength, think I should ask the professionals first though :). Have you had any experience with vinyl then?

I was a car sprayer and still dabble.

Personally i would not be doing a rear defuser in sticky or non sticky back plastic,

but then, i never really wash it, so i am not that bothered how they look.

Its not like anyone is going to really notice unless its a show car, and then i would not be wrapping it.

True, I think it would be a nice subtle addition, but realistically would need to look at having it dipped

.........

Gulps at price haha
