Moved house recently so Kermit hasn't had much attention but he does have a brand new garage to reside in, which also has a high bay area where I have a car lift so working on him will be so much easier. The only thing I've done is put waterless antifreeze in him, which should help stop any pre-ignition . I guess I should get a trackday booked especially as my new car trailer has arrived :-)

Wow, very impressed! Proper tuning this! I agree with Teflon Tom that the rear bumper would be better body coloured although the front one works grey/black IMO as it defines the front end shape

Edit: actually just paint the bottom half of the rear bumper body colour, then you have that consistent black strip front/back

Ken, from your knowledge, is it still true that Kermit holds the unofficial record of highest BHP squeezed from a 1289cc Favorit engine?

One other unrelated question: have you ever thought changing the photo in your signature? Compared to your work on the car, that flattened Kermit is not eye appealing. Try listing all modifications instead, or try a slideshow with the evolution of Kermit.

Yeah I might try painting the underside of the rear bumper but I also want to build a diffuser to go under there so what colour should I do that ?

I believe it is still the highest bhp one.

Yeah my sig and avatar need changing, I must get round to it.

I’ve been working on replacing the original pedal set up i.e. the lever mechanism that transfers the brake pedal movement from right side of the car to the left side. Thus reducing weight, frictional forces and adds mechanical advantage. It’s been a bit of pain and it’s not finished yet but I can at last see light at the end of the tunnel. I’ve had to buy two universal pedal boxes ‘cause the first one turned out impossible to fit, a lathe and a plasma cutter. Trouble being, there’s not a lot of room, here are a few photo’s that perhaps explained the problems better.

I'll post more as I tidy and sort the rest out.

Nah the first one I bought was MK1 Escort from Compbrake, Jim but I couldn't make that fit. The second is a universal one from Compbrake.

I have most of a MK1 Escort pedal box for sale if you're interested lol

That's a great car Ken, I wish I could afford to do some of the stuff you've done to Kermit to my Felicia..

It's a slow process modifying on a tight budget, and without having a garage for the winter work :emoticon-0101-sadsmile:.

Still, I hope to get mine to the rolling road this summer, and see if I can challenge your BHP figure?.

mine is a pre-cat 135 Favorit engine with an Engitec 278 degree cam,(that's already been in and reliable for 18 months!),

on the standard ECU with a completely custom exhaust,(that I'm still tweaking.). I estimate about 80-90bhp so far, still on low compression pistons.

I have another ex Darren Jones SK6 cam if you want one?(It wouldn't idle well enough for an MOT with a standard ECU, so I swapped to the Engitec.).

Would the cam be for sale? Thanks
