Found a car - that will be a no then!

Recommended Posts

Found a few, put the budget up a good chunk. So I've found 3 170cr's, 2 140cr's & a few PD's - all with less than 100k on the clock. One of then is an estate (140cr SE) and a 4x4 (twin door 170cr SE)

If I can stick to it, I think a 170cr would be my ideal car. Plus if I hold out until June/July when the baby comes I'll have saved a little more and I'll have a month to actually travel to see cars - even if it is a few hundred miles away!!!

Good luck on the hunt, if you can stretch a little more you'll get a great car. Im sure their all good but you'll find one less dog eared and you'll love it that little bit more. Keep up updated!

The one I like the look of is 338 miles away from me, its a 170 SE 4x4 with 66K on the clock, but its getting upto the thick end of my budget!, if its still available later in the year then ill take a trip to view it. Until then I've got ebay & autotrader setup so it emails me with details of newly listed cars. So i'll see what turns up in the mean time!

My Golden Retriever who is now 10 struggles to get in the back of my twin door so you may be better looking at an estate from a dogs point of view

Whereabouts in the UK is that one?

Initially I was looking at £3000 + whatever I sold the Jetta and it's parts for.

Now we are around £6000 + whatever I sell the jetta for or trade in. (So about £10k the lower mileage ones start at around £8000-£10000.

Hi, are you sure the forth car up from the bottom is a 170 4x4 DSG. I didn't think they came in until the FL? If that is what is stated then I would be a little wary.

Nice selection of Cars though. I would go for an elegance spec and 4x4 if you can get it.

Not liking the cheap aftermarket DRL's on the 2nd from bottom, obviously owned by someone named Al who tried to make their plate look like it meant something.

Blue approved one is a 58 plate. Interior colour I'd prefer black with silver trim. But I'm going to get it all rubbed down and done in Piano black anyway.

Also decided to keep my old merc rims and get the face centres colour coded.

I use a cetane booster in the Jetta. Big difference in the PD's (I'm on my 3rd PD now!) mapped, egr delete, dpf delete and straight through exhaust. Plus maybe R8 brakes and AP coilovers. But obviously that not immediately!!

I can see why you're so keen on the PDs!  You're looking at a very different machine once you've done that work to it - I presume around 180+bhp and a lot of stopping power to match!  Are those rims going on the Superb?

Yep. I can't leave anything std, so I tend to do brakes & suspension first, then rims, then map, then exhaust.

Thing is a mapped 170CR should make 210bhp anyway!!

The PD is a little more agricultural, but it's simple mechanical technology. And the noise doesn't bother me either.

The wheels are 8.5x18 et25's - std fitment on the 90's SL's

The blue PD "approved" one at £9000 is my favourite, but it's 411 miles away from me, next the Russo PD & then the black PD.

Favourite CR is the grey one on Luna's.
