vRS Front Brakes On To TDi - What do I need?

Recommended Posts

As per the title really, planning on upgrading the brakes on my '04 Elegance TDi this weekend to vRS ones.

I've got the calipers and carriers, freshly painted and ready to go, plus new discs and pads and I know I need to change the hubs as I don't have mounts currently for the caliper carriers.

Is there anything else I need or any specialist tools required? Are the driveshafts the same etc?

Any advice would be great as I don't want to get it all stripped and find out I've missed something and have to put it all back.

Thanks in advance.

Gareth

Thanks chaps, sounds like I might be good to go then.

Can anyone confirm that my Tdi (1.9 110 2004) driveshafts are going to be compatible with the vRS (2003) hubs? Thinking the vRS ones may be beefier and possibly have different splines?

Cheers.

on pd elegance's/L&K's 130bhp's they have 288mm discs, 288mm brakes are separate from the the Hub and  have a bolt on carrier to the hub

for the likes for 110's/90 bhp models they come with 280mm discs, the carriers for these are built into the hub, if your upgrading the brakes you'll need the vrs hubs, and yes the drive flange for the driveshaft off the vrs are the same as the tdi's so you wont have a problem with the shafts
