Electrical issues with new doors

Recommended Posts

Hi,

I have just fitted replacement doors (second hand) to the passenger side of my 52 octavia.

i am having issues getting the electrics to work properly. the front window will wind down on its own switch but not from the drivers. the rear window doesn't work at all. central locking also wont work on either door.

there is power to the doors as the speakers work and also the side marker light.

i have replaced the wiring in both doors so they are using the original wiring. a bit of a head scratcher.....

any idea's would be greatly appriciated.

thanks

It's quite well known that electrical faults in the doors are down to A) corroded / broken pins in the multiplug connectors, and B) broken wires inside the door looms.

A lot of people have had to replace the door looms. Or, if you're good at electrics and have lots of time on your hands - then strip and repair the looms yourself. But easier to buy new and replace.

I would imagine that now you've disturbed the looms and pulled them about, moving them from one door to another, then you now have wiring breaks inside them?
