tweenster's S2000

A good wheel sealant works wonders. :)

Looks nice, but if I am honest I prefer them with the S2000 stickers.

Without them they are a green VRS.

I agree, when I was looking for one to buy. I came across 2 that were listed at s2000's and were priced higher because if it. Yet one had no stickers. I tried getting him to reduce the price to that of the normal ones he had but he was adamant it was worth more as the s2000. Even without stickers. They didnt come with any extras as standard did they?

They got the Arm Rest, and another few options as they turned them out, and the Decals.

I undertood it that the Dealer had removed the Decals from 'tweenster' s wifes car, but left the ones on the front.

Thank you for the positive comments. The pictures were taken just after washing which is why the wheels are so clean. I plan to remove the wheels, scrub, polish and seal in the next couple of weeks. One of them has a large stone chip in that needs touching up. Yes, the S2000s had a load more stickers! They were removed either by the previous owner or the dealer prior to us buying it; Mrs T likes the one left on the front valance so that is staying.

It is very well specced. As well as the arm rest it has sat nav, heated seats, tyre pressure monitoring system, as well as the standard items such as cruise control, USB etc.

stu_mcl - That was my thought and I plan to speak to the dealer next time I visit. The paintwork is in excellent condition though. And I did get a very nice case of Autoglym products.

I subtly suggested to Mrs T when washing the car that it needed to be lowered. I was massively disappointed with her answer "Why?" I may just have to 'borrow' the car for a day and take it to somewhere like Awesome GTI to fit H&R 40mm lowering springs and RARB; would that make a good wedding anniversary present?

I like the colours and style of the S2000 stickers, but not the text. The worst part is the skoda.co.uk across the boot. I could be tempted to replace the stickers without the text should I have a windfall, or maybe even the UK rally version that had the union jack on the lower part of the rear doors, but without any text. Would look good I reckon.

  • 2 weeks later...

Today I gave the car a wash and another layer of Sonax BSD; still looks good! Checked the oil as well; hasn't changed since I last checked 2 weeks ago so it looks like ours is a good one.

As the car is mainly used for commuting I thought we would use the vRS today to take the kids back to school; a round trip of some 150 miles (that also included dinner at our favourite curry house in Bradford). Whilst remaining road legal, I used the available performance wherever possible and had a smile on my face the whole time. It really is a car to be enjoyed and makes you feel that you are driving it, rather than just pointing it in the general direction and pressing the pedals. And despite this, the computer was showing 41.6 mpg when we got home.

I'm looking forward to needing new tyres; the sooner I can replace the noisy Federals with something quieter the better.

RARB to be fitted on Saturday by local VW specialist garage; I'm quite looking forward to getting this done. Just need to find a subtle way of telling Mrs T I'm starting to mod her car!

RARB fitted - woo hoo!

Weather pants - boo hoo!

Never mind, as a reward for behaving whilst the RARB was fitted I bought the car a set of mudflaps and a boot mat (the plastic one with a one inch lip). Unfortunately the weather is so bad here there would be a danger of drowning if I tried to fit them today.

Rain stopped and managed to get out for a quick trip to the shops; couldn't really press on but first impressions are certainly of a more controlled rear end.

Also popped the boot liner in and managed to fit the mudflaps. Quite why Skoda say they don't fit a vRS is a mystery; no issues whatsoever.

Nice car mate, I've got this recent urge for a set of white Gigaros along with the mud flaps.

Wonder if colour coding mud flaps would be a viable option, obviously with them having a certain degree of flex you'd need to make the necessary preparations.

Do you mean white mud flaps? I think that would look awful; a bit like Ron Hills with white stilettos, although I know some young ladies think it is a good look!

Have you priced up a full sticker kit on ETKA, it's horrendous :(
