Felicia 1.3 LXI and E10 petrol

Recommended Posts

Hullo Everyone! I'm new here, and straight away I've got a question!

We probably do as many miles in our 1999 Felicia in France as in Blighty, and ordinary 95 RON petrol is getting hard to find. Motorway services only offer E10 or 98 RON (which is painfully expensive!), and off the motorway cut-price outlets often only have E10. The only places you can find 95 with 5% ethanol are the supermarkets.

I've read in a number of places (including on here) and here:

http://www.e10bensiini.fi/en/e10_compatible_motors/e10_compatible_motors_-_cars/skoda

that changing an O-ring in the fuel pressure regulator will solve it, but where does one get one? Has anybody else any experience of this?

I can't imagine our local Skoda dealer is going to be at all interested in providing a small part for a 15-year-old car, and all enquiries that I've made to online European car part specialists etc. haven't even attracted the courtesy of a reply...

All help gratefully received!

I heard of people using 50/50 mixture of E85 and petrol without issues. And I doubt that E10 will be much more aggresive than E5, which works fine

It's interesting, that 1.3 engines are listed as needing modification, when MPI engines have almost identical fuel lines to 1.6, while BMM is more different

I know this is an old thead but I have Just been on long run through France and found same problem, has anyone come across the answer in the meantime?

I would be more intrigued about finding 95 with 5% ethanol only at supermarkets. How's that? You pick a basket, go to aisle 5, make a right to petrol, and on the bottom shelf you see nicely wrapped 6-packs of 95 with 5% ethanol ?

Now seriously, you'll be fine with such petrol without any modification.
