I think the qashqai is a great car ,well built ,good quality and great modern design but I bought a yeti better engine in my opinion and a great drive,my choice but I'm not going to knock similar SUVs and be so biased that I can't see the good in other brands I could have easily bought a sportage or the qashqai or rav or crv, but chose the yeti,I try to be open minded ,and not criticise things because it's not my choice ,remember people who made different choices may be as critical of our choices in the yeti,just enjoy what u have at some stage we all change our views,that's life.

Except that they didn't.  In 2013 the Autoexpress Car of the Year was the Seat Leon.  The Yeti was their Car of the Year in 2010.  So they don't even know what they've printed in their own journal!

 

(That could be why they seem to have got themselves in a muddle over the photo, putting a picture of a 13 plate pre-FL Yeti over a piece which seems to be specifically about new cars.)

The Dacia Duster, Fiat Panda, Maxda CX-5, Range Rover Evoque and Suzuki SX4 are also available in 2WD versions.  That makes a total of six out of the ten cars in the last that are available as 2WD or 4x4!  In the case of the Panda and SX4 they do specifically list the 4x4 variants - but they could have done that for the Yeti too, in which case the Yeti offers a wider choice of engines in the 4x4 variant (1.8l petrol and 110, 140 and 170 2l diesels) than either the Fiat (1.3l diesel or 875cc petrol) or the Suzuki (1.6l petrol or 1.6l diesel).  One could almost suspect that they were actively looking for a reason to push the Yeti down the list...
