Vrs SE value

Recommended Posts

It'll sell around £5k, so ask a bit more to give you some haggle room.

I'd start at £5,250 and then you can come down to £5k or a little under if nobody nibbles.

A lot of sellers of the VRS SE go wrong by looking at overblown dealer prices with dealer back up at £6-£7k and then spend months slowly reducing the price.

There is currenly one in the classified section that's gone down from around £6,000 to £5,100.  Only slightly lower miles.

Also your profile doesn't state a location in the UK, so don't forget to put it in the advert. :)

Asking 6-7k for that mileage will get you nowhere, 5k seems about right for a private sale.

You are probably right! But the price for a good one of these with under 100k on the clock is still surprisingly strong. Like I said, if you are prepared to wait for the right buyer, around 6k is doable.

Definitely doable mate as you say! Anyone that knows their SE prices will wait for the right one knowing the real rate for one. But if you're in no hurry and that's what the car is worth to the seller then someone will eventually come along with money no doubt

Started higher, now down to £5,100.  75k miles.

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/330253-skoda-fabia-vrs-se-special-edition-no518-fsh-unmodified-54k/

Still on at £6,700.  57k miles.  No sign of a buyer.

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/321286-fabia-vrs-se-988-63k-miles-superb-lots-spent/

Still on at £6,900.  63k miles.  No sign of a buyer.  Has been for sale since JULY.

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/324840-fabia-vrs-se-fsh-for-sale-mint-condition-price-reduced-%C2%A35000/

Went on ebay as didn't sell.  £5,000.  119k miles.

I personally bought two on here in the last 6 months.  Both for £5,000.

One was on 76k miles and one was on 82k miles.

Autotrader:

http://www.autotrader.co.uk/search/used/cars/skoda/fabia/postcode/e95hj/radius/1500/keywords/vrs/onesearchad/used%2Cnearlynew%2Cnew/sort/default/colour/blue/fuel-type/diesel

£4995 - Dealer - no milage stated.

£5,100 - Private - 75k miles.

£5,495 - Dealer - 74k miles.

£5,495 - Dealer - 75k miles.

£5,550 - Private - 71k miles.

£6,000 - Dealer - 68k miles.

Then 2 more over £6,500...

Dealer cars obviously come with a minimum 3 month warranty.

What all those Briskoda and Autotrader adverts prove to me is that around £5,000 to £5,250 is right.

If you can get one of two dealer cars at £5,500 with 75k(ish) miles with a 3 month warranty.

Bought mine for £5200 with 80k on the clock, fsh, a couple of little scuffs and the usual stone chips. The seller had originally priced at £6k and then realised it was unrealistic. Luckily I got there with a deposit before any of the other viewers.

As above, give it a good clean and polish (the blue comes up really well), take some good pictures, include plenty of information and wait for the phone to ring; at £5000 - £5500 it shouldn't be long before it does.

£5,000 is a fair price but I'd personally put it up for around £5500 to test the water and give you good amount to manoeuvre. Wouldn't be willing to take less than £5000 myself mind but that would depend how quickly you need to sell as to what offer you end up taking. GLWTS!

Sold mine for £5k two months ago - had 63k on it. Got offered £4200 as a pt ex which I declined - defintely worth more than that.

I wanted 5k.

If advertising private I would have put it up for £5500 but a mate in a local garage offered to sell it for me - I got the 5k I wanted

There's not that many out there to pick through so you have to haggle with what's about.

Finding a low mileage, non molested and clean example is key.

Warranty is beneficial but one that's had all the right stuff changed will be fine - as with any used car, it's a gamble!

The price stated on any second hand car is always high, this allows room for haggling.

Regarding the valuation of a car, age and mileage is one thing but there are many other aspects to be considered. Service history, number of owners, condition both mechanical and body (interior, exterior) plus its originality/ modifications. With SE's people tend to forget that they are a future classic.

You set the price to what you feel the car is worth to you. There is no harm in reducing the price later on if you need a quicker sale.

**

What do you think?

£5 - £6k

Price it just under six, see if there is any interest, if not , start lowering it a couple of hundred quid until buyers seem interested.

Don't forget that as much of a cult car the mk1 vrs and the SE are, there is still a larger market after standard cars than modified ones, saying that, there are plenty of people after a modified car so that they don't have to do any messing themselves too.

Just been talking to my dealer about the SE values and he said he went to an auction recently and saw a grotty one go for £6000. Needed bodywork and a good clean/valet.

Values will continue to hold on all of them, not just the SE.

If it made you feel better about your purchase then he is a good salesman. ;)

Trade in price on an SE right now with 70-80k miles is around £4,500.

These cars then turn up at dealers for £6,000 and if they don't sell drop to £5,500 over time.

Dealers need £1,000 to justify the time/space/investment, warranty, VAT on profit etc...
