Winter wheels for my vRS

Recommended Posts

I'm looking for a set of alloys to put winter tyres on for my 2007 Octavia vRS.  I've seen a set of 17'' wheels from an Audi A4 or A6, would I be right in thinking the fitment is the same and they would have no problems bolting straight on ?  They have no centre caps so the plan is to put Skoda centre caps on them.

Not sure about going down a size to 16'', to be honest I'm really looking for either Skoda originals or VAG group alloys.   Good looking wheels though, I'm sure you'll sell them in the next month or so.  I'm about to put a set of winter wheels up for sale from my previous car, the value goes up once the temperature goes down. :D

It depends on the ET of the wheel you have in mind. Could you post a link to the wheels you are looking at?

The centre cap is probably much bigger on the Audi wheels so you can't use original Skoda made caps.

Skoda Octavia vRS - PCD 5 x 112 - Offset 35 to 38 - Bore 57.1

Audi A4 / A6 - PCD 5 x 112 - Offset 35 to 45 - Bore 57.1

steelies with tyres already fitted from my tyres is the route i took last year, was about 420 quid all in.

I am thinking about the steelies option but I would prefer a set of second hand Skoda or VAG alloys for winter use.

Yes, those linked wheels will fit just fine.

@SkodaKitteh its the combination of the width and the offset that determines whether the wheel will fit right or not. Not just the offset..

use a calcuator :  http://www.1010tires.com/Tools/Wheel-Offset-Calculator

btw the information you have above is wrong, the vrs does not have et 35-38.  The 17" zenith has et 54, and the 18" zenith has et 51, 18" Neptune has et51 also.

Agreed.  The Neptunes on my vRS are definitely ET51.  My 17x7 winter wheels are ET45 and fitted with 225/45 winter tyres.
