The majority here are not problem ones. Lots of names from the past have moved on. Plenty that have come only with faulty ones and never been back since. Still over the 20 percent of UK CAVE engines were replaced. And there have been more recently, but this wasn't ment as an Oil Thread, just a nosey at how many members are driving Twinchagers.

I'm not discounting getting another next year - would go for one of the last ones.

Yes, it has its faults, but it's a great all-round package of practicality, zippy performance and low running costs - and there are bargains to be had.

It's that or possibly just go without a car - I don't really need one but it's handy to have - because of that I don't want to send silly money and the vRS fits the bill.

Ooh, No 9 without realising it!

It's actually Mrs T's car and is a daily driver as she uses it to commute 10 miles to/from work each day. And then I did nearly 500 miles in it last weekend!

May 2011 VRS Estate - had a reasonable number of options now has everything but a Sunroof, headlight washers and a third rear headrest. SatNav is Columbus rather than Amundsen. Was an oil user and previous owner had breather fix and pistons rings (read new pistons). Usage was around 500ml per 1000miles when I bought it @29500 miles.  Now @37000 miles it's using half that. I don't worry too much, my fuel consumption is appalling because I use full throttle, full boost, full revs. I now only add oil when it hits minimum on the dipstick and only enough to bring it a maximum of third of the way up the hatched area. I've also ditched Shell V-Power and only use Tesco Momentum.
