Theoretically if I put on pre fl octavia with ch unit octavia 3 mfsw with superb buttons it will work?

No, not all buttons...only those on left side (volume, track), on right side no...or yes only for Phone if you retrofit a 5N0035730B or C Bluetooth Premium unit that works on pre-FL and use a BAP protocol for those buttons.

So would a Octavia 3 MFSW work in a preFL if I used the following:

Airbag from Octavia 3       (5E0 880 201B IZY)

Superb MF Buttons           (5e0 919 719F)

Superb cable                    (5e0 971 584) or can you use cable 3T0 971 584?

Multi Function Controller   (1K0 953 549CH)

With the new MFSW its looking costing around £400+  !

Im hoping its worth it!

I have decided to go ahead and start to purchase the parts, however I have one dilemma!

There are quite a few MF Controller on ebay, the ones from european conuntries are around £75+ or Can buy them from China for £40-£50 with a longer delivery period.

So where to buy from is the question?

In what car you are planning to retrofit these MFSW?

PreFL Octavia 2 or preFL Superb 2 ?

There is a difference

Im planning to do it in a PreFL Octavia 2 manual and I dont have Maxidot (but consider in getting this aswell later!)

Will not work...

On left side buttons yes but on right sude buttons not.

The car electronics in preFL cannot "talk" to this wheel properly since is a different protocol (BAP).

In case of Superb 2 is a just plug n play. It uses a BAP (white cluster)

Wouldnt that depend on the controller? Or do i need to consider a FL MFSW instead?

Unless your able to remove the buttons put them on a 3 spoke!

I was just looking at the Golf MK5 forum.  People who wish to upgrade their MK5 steering wheel have only to change their steering wheel to a MK6 steering wheel controller to a CH one.

So as the Octavia is based on the MK5, wouldn't that be the same for the PreFL? or are the MK5 & MK6 Golfs both rSAP?

Lol understood!

I was thinking that the Octavia prefl has the same electronic and functionality setup as the MK5.

I have an aftermarket stereo and it has MFSW connection so the steering wheel maybe compatible as you can program the stereo however what Im understanding is that it may not be coded VCDS. Is that correct?
