Electric Windows not working!

Hi

Recently my 06 FABIA has developed a problem with the 2 front electric windows. Had a look at fuses today, all fine and power getting to them.

The passenger window then started working fine, but the driver side did not. I've looked at the comfort control unit (box above clutch) and I don't know where to start looking. Put it all back together, now the passenger side doesn't work.

Does anyone have a diagram for this, or know of a solution that doesn't involve a specialist?

Thanks!

Jack

I have had problems with mirror on later version, passenger side. Goes left/right. not up down. You would think its getting power but obviously something was wrong. It turned out to be a broken wire in the bellow between the door and the chassis. They are quite thin it and must have fractured through repeated opening/closing of the door. Common problem apparently.. MAY just be worth you having a look in there for disconnected wire. A good proper look as its a little bit fiddly and you don't want to miss something by not looking properly. I swapped mirror motors round, checked fuses and a whole host of other things prior to discovering the snapped wire.

Its funny too, as some wiring supplies power to both up/down AND left/right, hence my not realising it was a wire. Canbus, I guess!

It may be nothing to do with this but its not too hard to check. I would look both sides to be sure.

Also, Fabias (and I guess, other VAG cars) Suffer window power problems after wet weather. I sometimes have to fully lower/raise the windows once or twice, manually, before the auto function will work. Usually, the passenger side window resets the problem, even if its the drivers window not functioning properly. if I had the time. I would strip the doors down to see if I could waterproof or protect the system but life's like a tiny willy… too short to give a ****!

Both Electric Windows on my Skoda Fabia 2, 2007 stopped working during winter 2013. They worked OK again over the summer 2014 up to about October, then packed in again. I have checked the wiring loom (as suggested by others) and all looks OK, but my Haynes manual wiring diagram (up to 2006) does not match my car which has 10 wires going into the motor. Can anyone post a wiring diagram for the electric windows for a 2007 model? Thanks
