Hi, could you give me some more info on these wheels, ie the VW p/n and the width and offset (ET ).  If they are for 6R Polo, I and right dimensions, I'd buy them but only if you could courier them up to Scotland at my cost, thanks.

Bubble wrap/foam (laminate floor underlay works well) on the face, then a few layers of card, layer of card on the back then wrap the whole lot in wrapping plastic (can buy rolls from Amazon).

Many couriers don't like wheels, so beware when getting quotes.

Thanks for giving that advice, I think that when I've bought "wheels with tyres on" before, it was just a wrapping of bubble wrap, that way it makes it clear that it is an alloy wheel, also TNT/DHL etc all treat four individual packages as one consignment (total weight). To Such, if it makes its easier, I am not interested in the tyres though they might help protect the wheels in transit.

You are right, though it needs a layer of something under the card to avoid marking the important front face from the card scrubbing it, I was meaning to make sure the courier knew it was an "alloy" wheel.  I am really trying to make things easier for the seller, that is why I added that I am not too worried about the tyres, if they were removed, the wheels would be easier to package in a layer of bubble wrap then cardboard on top of that.

Really need to find out exactly which VW wheels these are though by P/N width and ET.

I'll ask my son as he will know.

The VW part number for the wheels will be cast into them, it will take the form of "three letters and numbers" followed by "three numbers" followed by "three numbers" maybe followed by " a letter" as will the offset (called ET) and width 5.5J  or  6J  or  6.5J

VAG part numbers in general take the form of "first platform using that part"   "area of the car"   "the part"  "version".

Examples of wheel part numbers that you should find cast into these wheels are 6Q0601025*  or 6R0601025*  the * is the version letter.

right, the number stamped on the wheel is: 6.5 Jx15H2 ET50 or 6.5Jx15K2 ET50 - not sure if H or K

Thanks for that, I'd think that it is "H2".  So, I don't think that these tyres are correct for my Polo, as I was going to use them as winter wheels/tyres, 6.5J is just too wide for the tyre size (185) that is homologated for winter use on that car - well to keep insurer happy if the worst happened.

I think that you need to post up the VAG p/n that is cast on the back of these wheels to make selling them easier, what concerns me is that while you are advertising them as "15inch Polo wheels" - I can't find any VW Polo wheels that are like these, although they might be aftermarket - but they do look original VW items. Currently without the p/n etc I am worried that the wheel fixing bolts PCD and centre bore are not correct for a car like the Polo.

If you can tell us the VAG p/n if they are genuine VAG then I will try to find out what car they are for, which must make getting rid of them for some money a lot easier.

you also need the PCD ( think thats what it's called )   Bolt/hub fitting  5 X ???

Yes, but I seem to have covered that in my last posting!

Thanks I will check these, my son bought these for his polo, so i was under the impression that they came from one.

No mention of bolt pattern

Unless I can't see it

Take a squint at the picture in the opening posting, it says it all, as far as "4" or "5"  PCD for the fixing holes is Pitch Centre Diameter - which will probably tie these wheels to being from/for a Golf etc.  Actually as I said if they are VAG, the p/n will clear most things up.

So are they 5 X 100 or 5 X 112 ?

I don't know what the issue here is, I included the request for PCD a few posts back, and the picture shows that they are 5 hole wheels, once the OP gets back with the info I requested, which is "VAG part number", I can see exactly what these wheels are from, which I suspect is a Golf 5 or 6, which will confirm that it is 112mm PCD.

If off a Polo will be 5X100, look like the wheels my sister has on her 2008 Polo Bluemotion eco thingy.

Correct on the "5 X 100" part, yes I thought that they looked like (hopefully) a later Polo, like 6R and not the last of the 9N Polo!  The offset of 50mm seems wrong even for any of the 9N range of Polos and makes them look like Golf 5 or 6 (and maybe 4). As usual, when you start looking at Polos in car parks fitted with these wheels - you can't find any!

I've now gone into "helper" mode to try and let the OP relist or change/correct his item description in a bid to getting them sold. I've got 4-off Polo 9N steel 14" with Michelin Alpins on them to get rid of, but just can't seem to work out the best way of kick starting this, I now need to get winter wheels for wife's new Polo 1.2TSI 110PS, and they need to be 15" minimum and ideally alloys this time.

Excellent, now get that VAG p/n off them and quote it along with the " 5 X 112 PCD  6.5 J X 15 H2  ET50"  - job done!

They certainly come fitted with a 2008 Golf Match 1.4 TSI. Usually shod with 195/65/15 tyres if it helps.
