MFSW and steering wheel control 5K0953569H

Recommended Posts

I'm fitting a MFSW to my vehicle but I'm having slight problems. The radio buttons on the left are fine but the buttons on the right do this;

The phone button doesn't seem to work other than if you give it a long press it will ring the last number dialled.

The return button below won't do anything.

The scroll wheel will only change the instrument cluster from trip/display 1 to trip/display 2 and vice versa when pressed, turning does nothing.

I ordered the controller 5K0953569H but it seems to have come as a 5K0953569AH. Are these the same?

Right buttons won't work fully without Maxidot. Cluster control is from the right stalk.

The right MFSW buttons should control BT if fitted though.

This is my thread in similar circumstances

http://www.briskoda.net/forums/index.php?/topic/346992-MFSW-retrofit

In summary, without maxidot, only the left side will fully function. The cluster still needs to be controlled by the right stork. I did find once I had retrofitted bluetooth that the phone button on the right hand side would answer and terminate calls though.

I understand with retrofitted maxidot, the mfsw will fully function.

I fitted the maxidot and all worked fine.

One thing of note though is that when you code out the buttons on the wiper switch it needed the car locking and then unlocking before the coding took effect.

Can i revive this thread a bit? I now have a MFSW retrofit and coded, I have swapped out the Bolero for a Columbus and i have a Kauftec Fiscon Basic Plus for bluetooth (installed by the dealers when i bought the motor). No maxidot and cost and hassle of sourcing one for a petrol VRS in mph is ruling out going that direction. It would be great to get the phone button working (i don't mind if the right side scroll wheel does nothing) but will i need to swap the fiscon for an OEM bluetooth module and if so, part number?

Something else i've noticed; the Columbus seems to drop the phone connection for call audio and keeps on throwing up the connecting user message (every few minutes during a normal car journey). Phone is a Galaxy S8+. Anyone any thoughts on this?
