Good efficient service, they returned my calls and told me when the car was ready - something that rarely happens elsewhere.

They also took my exact requirements for keeping an old component and packaged it up for me.

Hell, they even cleaned the car for me (although I didn't realise till later as it was pretty good already)

Recommended and also much more accessible since their move to central Newbury

1st service on the variable servicing so was wondering what would occur, had acouple of things for them to investigate all of which were fine. On top of the standard service only needed some power steering fluid to be added. Excellent service, just need to phone tomorrow for some prices i asked for (was to busy to ask about them when they phoned me up to say car was ready and to take payment). Very satisfied, bought the car from them, they have always been great when i have popped in and will go back for the next service.

Ordered the car in Dec '04 with a whole bunch of extras. Friendly sales. Good follow-up and estimated delivery date.

When nearing that date very good about me ringing them a lot wink.gif - on 'pickup day' got recommended to book a time so they could offer me + Mrs the best attention. Went through the whole process nicely, explained the basics on the controls.

Ordered some accessories. Got called back as soon as they arrived. Fitted most myself except for the parcel shelf storage bag, which requires tools (be warned).

I bought a Parrot CK3100 elsewhere and got a quote from the dealer to fit this. When I dropped it in to get it fitted I had a courtesy car which had been given a bit more fuel than usual on my request due to my commuting distance. All sorted, ready & waiting before official opening hours. I mentioned the storage accessory required tools and I couldn't fit it, and they said they'd have a go at fitting it in within the same price.

It took several hours extra due to the complexity of installing the bag but I still only got charged the original amount, and the CK3100 was fitted beautifully in a way which would allow removal with minimal cost (just a blanking plate, which is less than a fiver).

Whole attitude seemed open and friendly, not had a service yet wink.gif

no discount for cash on car. Had to chase them to find out where my order was. no steering wheel controls as told it would, no car mats as promised had to buy them on the day (even after spending nearly £19k) and then had to fit them myself. Car inside was a rushed valet, windscreen and rear window only quickly wiped, corners were like a chalky colour, turned blowers on to be covered with a white dust (now cleared). exhaust slightly rattles when cold and after nearly 3 month wait to get the car cannot say im that impressed.

Not impressed at all. They've had my Octavia in for a total of two and a half days for air con and radio faults and still not sorted it.

Yes they're pleasant and I've had courtesy cars but underneath the facade I don't think they know what they're doing.

Unfortunately the other garage near me (Reading) is part of the same group (Whitequay) so will they be any better?

:) Further to my earlier comments a complaint to the Aftersales Manager has now resulted in both faults being rectified at last. He seemed genuinely concerned about the way I had been dealt with and went out of his way to personally ensure matters were sorted out.

Got my new company car (vRS TDi Estate) from Ashmore Green, and they were very thorough and helpful. They even managed to work out how to order heated front seats (something which few other dealers were even prepared to contemplate).

Have tried my local dealer (Loders in Yeovil) for some simple recoding (to turn on daylight running lights) and got nowhere. They told me they Skoda technical told them it was impossible.

Went back to Ashmore Green, and they sorted it out with no problems.

Colin Anson, the service manager, has been great throughout. When he says he'll call back, then he does, unlike a lot of other garages I've dealt with.

I recommended my colleague to them, as he was looking for a new vRS, and they have just done him a stunning deal.

Bagpuss.

Glad your collegue got a deal, i was told no deals available they dont do deals when i got mine.

Had a few problems with my new car, took a month for someone to get back to me and what was the answer ? well in a "we got your money and dont give a toss about you now atittude" i was told that my car would need to be in for a week and could i drop it off during the week. Impossible i live 20 miles away and work 12 hour shifts which would mean taking the day off work when they could look at it on a saturday morning and say what they can and cant do that day and do the rest another weekend.

After hearing at the skoda meet last night of another persons problem with them and their attitude towards them to its not isolated (god i though it was just me lol).

They annoyed me, overcharged me, and when confronted with that, basically told me tough **** - so not ever getting any more business from me..

The one in Oxford seemed a lot better but I'm out of warranty now anyway so...

They're are pretty unwilling to do deals, that is true :) hence why mine is coming from up north. They did give a good trade in with my other halfs car, and a fairly good price too.

I've not found servicing to be too bad (no better or worse than HL Austin in London, but that might not be saying much!)

Overall purchasing experience I would say about 9 out of 10.

Salesman, Greg Bartlett, was very polite and friendly, not pushy, not arrogant unlike some other garages. He listened to my requirements and made sensible suggestions. He allowed an un-accompanied test drive without pre-booking and it was the test drive that really sold the car.

Talking numbers, discounts were not on the table but I got a really god price for my old banger and zero percent finance over three years, so I keep my money in the bank earning me interest. We agreed a delivery day which fitted in with my shift work and the salesman ensured the car and paperwork was ready on time.

Collecting the car was a joy. No hassles, the car was in pristine condition, well valetted, the paperwork was all ready and and an added bonus, I got a 16" alloy spare instead of standard steel wheel throne in free of charge.

I have had the car for four weeks and done 1,500 fault free miles averaging around 50mpg. Will see how they perform when the first service is due, but for the moment, well done Ashmore Green.

B.

I had a problem with my car cruise control switching off randomly (http://briskoda.net/forums/octavia-ii/cruise-control-failure/90812/2/#post1296612) so I phoned Skoda Customer Service and spoke to Vijay. He admitted that there was a known problem with these stalks and arranged for the car to go into Ashmore Green to be looked at. At this time my car was due it's first MOT so was just under 3 years old but it had 85,000 miles on the clock. He also agreed to do it under warranty, as this fault is not mileage related.

Ashmore Green found the problem and tried to bill me full price for the parts and labour. After I explained my conversation with Vijay at Skoda CS, they checked with him and then did the work for just over £50, which I was very happy with as it should have been £160 ish for the part alone. They couldn't find any faults with the R/H stalk at the time but it is now logged on the system.

My car failed the MOT on emmissions so they then had to rectify that problem the following week and then ammended the price a bit lower, which was fine.

I was kept informed all the way through this process by Paul and I can't fault him. Very happy at the moment with Ashmore Green.

Have had two Fabias serviced there-05reg 1.2(64hp)Classic Hatch & Fabia 2 1.2 70hp Hatch and have been very well looked after over a period of three years.Understand there will be a complete revamp of the building & service facilities in the near future so things should improve for those previous posters who have had problems.

I have received very good service from them overall, I too think they are substantially more expensive than others, but having tried the others their level of service provided is second to none.

Colin Anson is indeed a sound bloke

I'm sorry to say after being a long time Whitequay customer (6 years and 3 cars) I think their service has dropped off significantly recently. Going to try Parkview in Reading from now on

You may have to from now on, as it seems Whitequay have gone into administration. I had my superb booked in for a service next week but got a call today from Skoda UK to suggest I try another dealer.... Will be giving Parkview a go in a couple of weeks.

Parkview have just quoted me £350 for a variable 60K service and £510 for a cambelt and waterpump change

They charged my mum £260 on her Fabia first 10k service as well

As was mine and the main reason I have continued to use the brand and in all honesty with the lack of good local dealers I will probably have to leave the brand next change

Although as I said before back in 2012 when my mum wanted to order a new Fabia VRS they seemed disinterested , didnt follow up her calls and wouldnt get a demo for her to look at

Same story when I wanted to order my Fabia VRS last July , I phoned three times to get them to price me up and didnt get a call back.

Its a real opportunity missed when you lose car sales in your own area to other dealers

Always found the service and repair side excellent though and they were a friendly bunch , very sad for all those that worked there , I wish them all the best .
