Loders have various franchises localy and I bought two new VWs from them in the mid 90's I ended up using a VW dealer in Poole after feeling ripped off. When I decided to buy a Fabia TDI this year I was dissapointed to find that Loders had been granted the Skoda franchise for Yeovil, but I went ahead dispite my misgivings. My car was an ex demo model at 4 months old and I felt that it was very good value at £8995 with only 1800 miles on the clock however the were some hairline scratches on the rear door which I was promised would be rectified before I came back to pick it up later in the week. The sales man also promised to supply floor mats with the car. When I went to collect the car the scratches were still evident and there were no floor mats (I waited for them to be fetched from the parts dept) worse still Loders had lost the cars service history and I had to wait a month for a reprint. Needless to say I have not used Loders for servicing or accessories. See my review of Mid Cornwall Cars for a Skoda dealer that lives up to the fine reputaqtion of their cars .

Took the car back when engine light came on BIG MISTAKE. Car came back with silver mesh and carpet very dirty and all 4 jacking points damaged- which was my fault as car is lowered!!!!! service manager told me i didn't have to bring the car there- well i wont be. damaged repaired but alloys(brand new) covered in overspray. Needless to say i will NEVER go there again

I phoned for a test drive in an Octavia and was told one was available. when I arrived I was told that none were available which ****ed me off somewhat after driving 35 miles to get there. Salesman was a ?*%$ing Plonker, saying he wouldn't take part exchange and there would be a 5 1/2 month waiting list for the model I want.

As it was I went to Westover Skoda In Poole and have ordered my car after having A1 service and will be calling in to loders to show him my new car and tell him what a prat he was.

I managed to get a replacement turbo FoC from Loaders in Yeovil for my 110TDi. Took the car up there, had a mechanic go out for a test drive and diagnose the problem - in my eyes much better than Westover Skoda in Poole (who I initially went to)

Hi,

Took my Skoda (suprise) to them for a service, all carried out well. Only problems were that they recomended I replace the discs and pads all round and change the cam belt. £290 to replace the belt sounded a bit steep and the discs and pads have around 6000 miles life left according to another specialist i took it to. £190 for rear discs and pads sounds expensive too as I sorced the parts on the web for £68 delivered (bargain i think), if I'm not mistaken its not a dificult or time consuming job ?1-2 hours labour.

I think I'll try another dealer.

Popped into Loders today to get 1 Ltr of the Longlife DPF Compatible Oil for the Octavia vRS TDi

Tim (IIRC?) behind the spares desk came out with a bottle, and gave it to me complimentary.

Didn't expect that, especially as i had to resort to going to the Local SEAT Dealer for my last tub of oil as i coulnt find Skoda, and it cost me nearly £20 all in for the same tub...

After my issues with Westover last year, im going to give Loders a try. Otherwise im buggered for another dealer local to me, Loders and Westover are 15 & 17 miles away respectively!

vRS went for it's first Service today

Very good experience.

I had a courtesy car, as it's through work, which was another Octavia TDi.

I was called within 2 hours of leaving the car there, to say it was ready.

On arrival to collect the car, it had been all nicely washed, and given a quick going over inside too. With all the docs left in the car for me.

On another note, i asked for a 1L tub of longlife oil to be added to the cost of the service, but they couldn't do it due to its Service being arranged by my lease company, which was fair enough. But, after i had left, i got a phone call from them asking me to return - because i had refulled the Courtesy Car to the brim (i received it with only 1/4 tank) they then gave me the Oil i requested F.O.C - which was nice.

(the fuel top up was paid for by my company on their credit card... ;):D)

2nd Service

All rectification work carried out, and Courtesy Car supplied (Fabia 1.6 16v Sport)

Car was dropped off at 0830 ish, and work completed by 1230

They also carried out the activiation of the 2nd Rear Fog correctly (VAGCOM), new wiper blades etc

And carried out the cleaning of the heap for me too :)

Also found a 1L Tub of Oil in the boot, with the 'Womans Kit' (Gloves, funnel, instructions...)

All with excellent customer service as previously experienced

Good experience all round from them, ordered car on 31st Aug 2010 and initially told delivery by christmas, unfortunately this didn't happen but kept informed when build date would commence. Then build date given as week 3 (Jan 17th), but after delivery kept back for an 11 plate picked up new car on 1st March and all went through smoothly, well pleased.

A lot of the posts on this page are old.

Anyone have any recent experience with this crowd ?

Thinking of coming all the way from Ireland to buy a 2nd hand car off them and want to be 110% sure before I make the trip.

Where to begin...

I bought my Fabia from them just under 5 years ago. Brand new model at the time but no deals. I signed up to a 4 year service plan which included all checks and MOT so was relatively happy about that (although the last service didn't seem to include a wash and vacuum). Around 6 months ago, I started thinking about a new car and popped in every month or so to see what was on offer. I was happy with the Fabia but needed something a bit bigger to handle the growing family (13yo boy is 5'7") and so was looking at the Yeti and Octavia, I quite liked the Yeti Urban but was told by the sales guy (KK) that they couldn't offer any deals or they would lose their franchise. Believing this to be ******, I told him to call me if they had a better deal but until then I wasn't interested.

Now on to earlier this month. I got a call to book in my 5 year service and MOT, I was also told that I would need my brake fluid changed and I could get a valet while they had the car for £15. I said "Ok (except for the valet, I thought you washed and hoovered anyway like it says in the website), but I'd like to know the costs first" so they provisionally booked me in for 23rd and promised to call me back later that day, needless to say there was no call. I called them back the following day (after checking out the website national pricing that was being pushed) and after some initial confusion, eventually got a price from them of £149 for the service and £55 for the brake fluid. I pointed out that the website price was £129 for the service and that as my brake fluid was done last year on a 2 year schedule, I didn't need the latter. They agreed to match the price.

Since then, I did a little bit of research online and found the Urban I was after for £900+ less than list. It should be available within 2 weeks (it's in the port now apparently). All I need to do is drive up and p/ex my Fabia, hand over some cash and it's mine. I'll be doing this but am seriously considering going elsewhere for my service in future. I feel that Loders / Heritage have tried to treat me as a cash cow rather than a loyal customer and I am not happy.

As for coming from Ireland, I'd think twice (but given that your post is nearly a month old, it may be too late)

I would not recommend this dealer myself, only use this due to it being local and for minor issues only. Bought my fabia in April from a different dealer, oil cap didn't close so I took it to my local skoda (heritage). It turns out this was a minor problem that they rectified for me free of charge! I was pleased with the service until I was informed that 3 of my 4 tyres needed changing as they were below or on the legal limit.

The car had a new MOT when I bought it and I was panicked and confused as to why the tread depth had gone so quick. Took the car to another local garage that my family uses for the servicing, was told that all my wheels were safely above the tread depth limit!

Went back again recently for my engine warning light, reluctant for them to have a look at it due to their previous dishonesty!

If you can manage to get your car to a different skoda garage, I would recommend you're better off doing that!

I can only speak about my experience so far, but Heritage Skoda Yeovil have worked hard to give me a deal that I'm pleased with. They have made us feel special, gone to a lot of trouble to accommodate my long list of requests (many going beyond Maxi-dot set-up) and presented Ottie beautifully when we collected her last week.

Special thanks go to Richard Hamilton and his colleagues Adam, Tom, Kevin, Sonia and Kim. I would recommend them. The 'first date' went well. Now we'll see how the relationship progresses.
