Have visited several times for small parts for my Fabia. The staff in the parts department seem to be reluctant to serve customers, preferring to try and ignore you whilst carrying on their discussions, then selling you the wrong product due to apparent lack of knowledge of the vehicles. However, I have had a chat with the sales staff and they appear considerably more knowledgeable about the range.

I've been taking my car there since new. I didn't buy it there because they didn't offer me the best trade in. The service I've received there is excellent - never any arguments over what I would consider warranty Jobs.

Sometimes when parts need to be ordered service are sometimes a bit slow at getting back to me to organise a day for getting the car in but with a little push they organise things to my satisfaction.

I'd recommend this garage to any local Skoda owner.

They also MOT'd my old '65 Anglia - very thorough!

Despite having friendly service staff & of coarse Nick (the Vrs man) I've given up on this dealer.

When I was looking to order a Mk2 Octavia Vrs a year ago the information they had on the new car was 'quite limited'. Despite this they were willing to take an order & deposit from me - with no idea when the new car would be delivered!

They also wouldn't commit to a future trade in price on my old car until the new car was delivered. Hardly fair.

So instead I went to Robinson's in Norwich & ordered a Fabia Vrs instead & took delivery 3 days later. I got

I recently purchased a new Octavia L & K from Chequered Flag in Attleborough. I must say that i cannot fault the service given to me by any of the sales staff at Chequered Flag. They were very attentive, and dealt with all my many question efficiently and politely. I would definitely deal with them again and would recommend them to anyone

I had my vRS serviced there at 20,000 miles. I had used ALS previously, but they were shut as they are rebuilding the showroom or something.

Chequered Flag are my local dealer however I bought the car from Simpsons as it was 15% less than what Chequered Flag quoted me (no discount possible in Norfolk at all apparently). I should have heeded the warning sign.

The car is on the Skoda fixed price servicing plan and basically it's a pain. The jobsworth on the service desk just kept telling me about how Skoda wouldn't let them do this and wouldn't let them do that. Firstly he said that if the service spanner wasn't showing the dash display Skoda wouldn't let him service it. Then he said the supplying dealer had screwed up because it should be on variable servicing (it shouldn't) and he made me phone Simpsons to check the car was on fixed or variable servicing. It was on Fixed (as it should be) and the Simpsons service people were utterly bemused that another Skoda dealer should be wrong on something so basic. Then if it wasn't explicitly listed in the service plan, they couldn't do it. eg. They could only change the brake pads if they were actively gouging chunks out of the brake disks. OK - next time I'll take it to a dealer where they will do it, even if I have to pay for it to be done myself as contrary to what Skoda UK must think, I don't want to have to take the car back to the dealership between services to have the brake linings renewed, or the tyres changed. If I was paying for it myself they would be suggesting that the brakes wouldn't last another 6 months and I ought to get them changed now. It's now idling rough and the fuel economy has gone to pot. And it stutters worse than ever now, so dear only knows what they did to it. Probably nothing as doubtless Skoda pay the dealerships buttons for the fixed price servicing.

I don't expect much (it's a cheap car), but I do expect it to be better after a service than before.

Back to ALS for some remedial work I think.

I recently bought a used Skoda Octavia estate (elegance 2005 model) from CF and would like to share my experience.

Firstly I found CF through Autotrader whilst searching for cars. I do not live anywhere near CF but was willing to travel if the price was right. I had been searching for 1-2months (specifically for an estate car to accommodate the new addition to my family) and I settled rather quickly on the Skoda Octavia estate as my car of choice. After making a couple of enquiries at other garages and dealing with sales staff they never quite got the level of service right. This all changed when I contacted the CF sales team and found myself dealing with Brian Jones.

After explaining my situation to him (not being able to travel to see the car easily), he was more than happy to help. I had all my questions answered concisely to do with Warrenty, Road Tax, MOT, Service History, Vehicle History etc and after this initial enquiry I went away satisfied with the service provided.

After mulling things over for a couple of days I got back in touch with Brian, who took extra photos of the vehicle at my request and answered all of my secondary questions. Because of my distance from the garage Brian and I managed to negotiate a price over the phone and I paid a deposit so that the car could be held for 2 weeks until I could travel to collect and pay the balance.

I will admit that I was still nervous about putting a deposit down on a car I had never seen and it is only because of how thorough Brian had been that persuaded me to do this, he had not only told me the good points of the car but also pointed out the negatives of the car; what looked like a key scratch that had already been painted over rather poorly, corrosion on the wing mirror indicator and a chip in the windscreen. The indicator and windscreen were fixed (brand new windscreen - not just a repair) as part of the pre sale service.

I had to use public transport to get to CF and again Brian came to my rescue by picking me up from the local train station. When we arrived at CF I was shown round the car by Brian who pointed out the damage (previously mentioned) and we then went on to complete the paperwork. Once complete Brian explained all of the controls of the car to me (which I am very grateful for as I don't think I would have found everything myself!) before seeing me no my way.

CF has also shown their commitment to customers - Brian contacted me a week or two after the purchase to make sure that the car was still ok and had not suffered from the long journey (Which it hadn't). All in all I had a very good experience with CF and would recommend them to anyone looking to buy a used Skoda!

Thank you CF!

Be BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS BUNCH OF COWBOYS. THEY FITTED A CENTAL LOCKING SWITCH ON MY OCTAVIA AND CHARGED ME £86.83 WHEN THE SWITCH IS ONLY £14.

TOLD ME THE LABOUR TIME WAS .90 ALBEIT THEY ONLY WORKED ON MY CAR FOR 30 MINUTES. I SAT THERE WAITING FOR IT. THEY STILL CHARGED ME FOR TIME THEY WERE NOT WORKING ON IT. SCANDLESS . THEN TOLD ME THEY WOULD PRICE MATCH IF I GOT A WRITTEN QUOTE FROM A SKODA DEALER, I DID (2) AND THEY WERE BOTH £60. CHEQUERED FLAG THEN PHONED VINDIS OF BURY ST EDMUNDS TO WHICH THEY RECKON VINDIS JUST GUESSED AT THE PRICE AND WONT PRICE MATCH OR REFUND MY MONEY. BE CAREFUL WITH VINDIS COS IF YOU GET A WRITTEN QUOTE FROM THEM IT'S NOT WORTH THE PAPER ITS WRITTEN ON. DONT TRUST THESE GUYS.

They appear to have shut down completely.

Having lost the full franchise around 2008-09 they continued as Authorised Repairers and just a few years ago took on Ssangyong as well.

Another small dealer gone ...
