A superb experience, they were polite and always returned calls when they said that they would.

One small glitch was they forgot to put the owner's manual in the car, they phoned at 9:00 am the next morning to say that they would send someone over (15 miles) to deliver it!

Fantastic!

Bought vRS from them June '03, serviced, parts purchased and help out when things go bad...and not through car or service faults either!!! Always willing to offer advice and willing to discuss ideas in the quieter periods. Very clued up on getting the cars upgraded...workshop foreman drives vRS and \'plays\' regularly. No problems in advising people to ring this dealer and seeing what they can offer you......as an individual and not just see the £ signs as you walk up!!!!

Rainworth are a fantastic dealership to deal with. Theyre actually my local dealer as well so that makes it even better but Id travel to them even if I moved away.

Good pricing, personal service, good to deal with and reliable. All in all a friendly dealership where you dont feel pressured.

They also sponsor local events and give a lot back to the local communities.

Rainworth Motors are very good people to buy a Skoda from.

I am the proud owner of a new Fabia VRS. I totally agree all the above reviews.

Jeremy Taylor on sales is a really nice guy.

You really don't feel like you are in a "high pressure" car salesroom, its a nice and relaxed atmosphere.

It is well worth travelling from Leeds to Mansfield.

The service dept are nice to talk to for advice, all in all a fantastic dealership.

This is my first new car, and what a car!

I think I will keep up to it and replace it every few years - from Rainworth Motors of course!

I'll give them 8 out of 10 for the servicing.

They were very accomodating, friendly, well priced and managed to get me a loan car at short notice. They even cleaned the 6" of grime off the car  Service was done as it should be so absolutely no complaints at all.

Will I use them again? Yep! It's already booked in for clutch and suspension at the end of the month.

Rainworth motors are very good as said by everyone above. I bought my L and K from them. It was a resonable price, and the sales guys were great.

My only critism is that like in a post above, there was no manual in my car. when i phoned to find out where it was, they informed me, there wasn't one, and they would get me one and send it to me. Fair enough.

Three days later one arrived, all ripped.

When I re-phoned, they said they would get me another and send it out. Two months on, i'm still waiting. Getting back onto them this week.

I would still deal with Rainworth again. I am putting this down to a slight slip up, and hope they will not do this again.

Have nothing but praise for Rainworths. Bought my 06 Plate Fabia vRS from them. Originally phoned them to ask what the best price they could do was.... Jeremy called me back a few minutes later to check my reqd spec and to tell me he had found an exact same spec car that was a cancelled order. When it came to the car being ready for collection they organised everything i needed for the car. On the day i collected the car i travelled down to Mansfield on the train and they even offered to pick me up from the station.

Only thing i have had to call them about is that i didn't seem to get a certificate/guarentee for the SilverSeal i had applied to the car.... Jeremy has said he's gonna get me one in the post.

All in all so far they've been a brilliant dealership and would defo recommend them to people.

Cheers

Dave.

Well, I had my suspension and clutch changed as I said in a previous post.

Clutch is fine.

As may have been seen in my thread about my suspension woes I have had a couple of issues.

The dealer principals gave me a loan car on the monday, the car was eventually handed back to me on the Thursday evening and is now fixed. It's a shame that I had to complain to the DPs but I was getting nowhere with the mechanics. It turns out I was right, the suspension top mounts had been mounted incorrectly (upside down). Being patronised by the mechanics made me unhappy. In a way I am lucky that I am sort of mechanically minded and that I have friends who are prepared to help (big thanks to you guys as well! ), I would feel very sorry for someone who didn't have this knowledge, I think they would have been blissfully unaware that they were being flanneled. :(

So, will I use them again? No. I have lost all faith in them and would feel that I would have to constantly re-check any work done on my car by them.

Sales: Excellent. Jeremy Taylor listened to my requirements (rather than trying to sell me something off the shelf) and a deal on a second hand Superb was done. Everything was in place when vehicle collected.

Service: Not so good. Rear pads 2mm, bleed nipple cap missing, spare flat but not punctured, sump overfull, wheel nuts overtightened.

I wonder if we could persuade Jeremy Taylor to start another dealership with a decent service shop. I'm soon to be in the market for another small car and would consider going to Mansfield again, although it's a fair distance for me.

The trouble is, if you're buying at a distance, you need everything to be right. Having looked at the jobs they have done on my Superb, I reckon they have one "man who knows" who works to a high standard and a lad or lads who do things like oil and wheel changes - to the detriment of the vehicle involved.

Bit of a strage experience for me as all was fine until I took the car elsewhere to be looked at (due to moving jobs).

Rainworth had the car in to fix the (infamous) Octavia squeak which was determined to be caused by the radiator mountings. These were replaced under warranty. When I picked the car up (all done fine apparently), drove out the dealership and discovered they hadn't re-connected the headlights. Popped back in, and they recitifed that.

Following morning (when light) I notice that they haven't refitted one of the headlights properly. Back up the road, problem solved and a "50% off your next service" voucher by means of an apology. Result.

FFWD 12 months and I drop the car into Farmers (Notts) as the squeaking has re-appeared. Explain what work has been done before to rectify this and off it goes.

I get a call an hour later asking if I'd definitely had the mounts replaced as there was no record on Skodas warranty DB and the mechanic's certain that they've never been changed since the car was made.

Personally, I'll not be back there in a hurry, which is a shame as the drive over the new Mansfield bypass down to Rainworth was almost worth the servicing cost alone.

I have to agree with the last post.

Here is a post that I was going to place when I first got my car, but discression won the war until now (please remember this was almost a year ago).

Today however, just to top it off, I called Rainworth to ask how much a 40,000 variable service was - £351.71 inc - elsewhere - £266.20 inc (and that's a skoda dealer too!)

===========================

Hi all,

I'm new here - just bought my 1st Skoda - a '54 reg Superb Comfort - brilliant machine. However, to co-incide with my 1st service, I have my 1st horror story - it needs to be told, but I'm not sure where to tell it. Apologies if this isnt the right place.

So, I bought my Skoda from a car supermarket as it offered very good value for money. It needed a service in 700 miles, so before I actually made the transaction I rang a local Skoda dealer to enquire about the 1st 20k mile variable service costs as I didn’t want to buy a car that would need servicing twice a year that cost many hundreds.

I was told that it cost £230. Nothing too surprising there, however when I rang my local garage, they said that they would charge only £110. Seeing the opportunity to save a few quid, I called Skoda Customer Services to ask them about having the car serviced at a non-franchised dealer, and how it would affect the warranty.

I was pleasantly surprised to hear that provided the servicing garage was VAT registered and used genuine Skoda parts, all would be in order. I called the original garage back and asked them how much it would be to have the service computer reset as the local garage didn’t have the equipment to do this and again was nicely surprised to hear that it would be a princely £15-£20 + VAT.. Bargain!

So, tomorrow (Wednesday) the car is booked in for its service - and I call the Skoda garage to book the car in for the computer resetting (after its service would have been completed) to be greeted by "John" ... the owner of the garage.

I explained the history of my conversations with his garage and Skoda & my local garage and asked nicely if I could book the car in for sometime tomorrow. He then tells me in what can only be described as an arrogant and aggressive fashion, that the cost would be £60+vat. I queried this as I had been previously told £15-£20+vat and received back the rantings and ravings of someone who obviously had a bad Easter break. "Why should we reset your computer? You didn’t buy the car from here, You’re not having it serviced here, why should we? I'm the owner of this garage, the cost is £60+vat if you want it done, but I don’t need your business. Feel free to take it elsewhere, we're not hard up for this kind of work". That’s a very condensed version with all the repeated ranting removed (and believe me, some of the phrases he used are not worthy of print here).

I actually believed that as a franchised dealer the job would have been a good way to introduce a new customer to his garage, and build up a good relationship, easing a new Skoda driver into Skoda's warm bosom, earning trust and (possibly) new sales from it. How wrong I was.

I called Skoda Customer Services to report this no less than abusive attitude (as I said, the majority of the rantings were removed) so hopefully "John" will get his just deserts.

I called another 2 Skoda dealers in the same locality, who were more than happy to take my £38.19 inc VAT and possessed none of the 1st Skoda garages attitude issues.

I can honestly say that if I'd have spoken to John to start with, I would have in fact bought from a different manufacturer, wrongly under the assumption that all Skoda dealers would have been like this one.

Skoda need to be aware of such maligned individuals operating with their name.

It's just as well I didn't meet him when I bought my Superb from Rainworth Motors. I don't suffer people with that kind of attitude easily and would have told him in no uncertain terms where he could put the car I was about to buy.

Jeremy (Taylor) - I think you should find another dealer to work with. Thanks for selling me a good vehicle.

I find it hard to believe how well Skoda fares in the JD power rankings,I have found both my experiences with dealers ,apart from the actual purchase which was fine, abysmal, you have the privelege of having hundreds of pounds lifted from your wallet by arrogant, rude men and if you like a stand up row, mention any warranty work..p**s poor

I went over there to look at a changing my octi vrs for an elegance estate, I knew I wouldnt get much for mine in PX but expected more than they offered, they were also supprised when I told them what work I expected doing to get a sale, some of which needed doing as I had a test drive in a car with 4 illigal tyres.. Shan't be going back to look at another 2nd car from them.

Just bought an Octavia estate from them. Steve Cantrell and Jeremy Taylor, the salesmen I dealt with, were extremely helpful. No pressured sale and very fair part exchange deal. No quibbles over replacing two tyres and unlike some dealers I've known in past, honoured every detail of our agreement. Car well presented on collection and time taken to familiarise me with everything. So far, an excellent and pain free experience and car is running extremely well. The dealership has just relocated to a brand new showroom a couple of miles down the road and it's now much easier to park.

They were extremely helpfully when I wanted my SKC to use with my VagCom unlike the Lincoln dealership.

Although they are further away from me I will use them in future for any parts and service I may need.

The address at the top of the posting is there new premises they have only been there 3 weeks now.
