It's now called "Startin Skoda". Same staff though. I bought my Octavia from them in 02 and have always had it serviced there. I think they are pretty good : they've been helpful in diagnosing problems, have done simple tests for free. They had an opportunity to charge me for work that didn't really need doing, but were 100% honest.

I've always found them reliable and straight and friendly.

Good garage. I like it a lot. Bought my 53 plate Fab Combi from here. Good price, good service, and I always get a hello from the salesman. Servicing fine and guys agreed when I refused to pay for screenwash on the service. (I had filled it the same morning). I would (and do) go back there.

Bought my Fabia VRS here in August, decent enough deal eventually. Took it in yesterday for some checks to rear brakes, stuttering and turbo whistle - good explanations and reasons for not changing anything at this stage, reassured me I had done right by having them checked. Treated with respect and understood I knew what I was on about. Good courtesy car (new shape 1.2) at no cost only fuel. No problems at all, phoned me when ready, very polite, and I'm satisfied. Will use again for next service in December!

The change of ownership and the name change to "Startin Skoda" does not seem to have affected the place adversely, I still get my Octavia serviced there.

Bit teed-off that they recently left me languishing in a waiting room for 2 hours because they forgot to phone through to tell me that they'd finished......but otherwise, I am always confident that they do a good job, are not on the fiddle and charge fairly.

I have found them to be very helpful and apparently honest. Good explanations given and always ready, willing and keen to advise on the phone. So far, very good!

Took SWMBOs Fabia there for 40k Service, MOT & Cambelt change this week, because they quoted £130 less than Robert Bamford (Gloucester) for the Cambelt.

The staff were friendly and helpful, although they did seem to have a 'fluid' pricing strategy, so its worth getting quotes beforehand, and questioning everything on the bill.

They also added brake fluid change & coolant change (at over £100), which I thought should have been included in the service cost - as it was part of the scheduled 40k service.

All in all, friendly helpful service, I'd be happy to use them again.

Lissy is booked in there tomorrow for 60k service after brill communication via their email contact option from the website. Speedy replys on queries for things i wanted done and willing and happy to quote upfront for the job. All A.OK so far!

Nothing but bad experiences, despite having friends who have used them without issue!

Long and short is I reversed into a wall and needed bumper replaced for nearly £600, my fault and I was at that point vain enough to have it done. They charged me for a £60+VAT parking sensor that was functioning (haha, yes really, beeeep <thunk>), then when I queried this they managed to dodge my questions both verbal and written. Still unresolved, but as I was in and out of hospital at the time I didn't have the energy to pursue it for the sake of £60. Wasn't even washed and the bonnet stone chip not cleaned up as they had promised.

Went back years later with my girlfriend to look for a furby, we were left hanging around and upon approaching them were treated with utter indifference.

The whole experience has left me with a very bitter taste, more so that I was very ill at the time. Thankfully there are plenty of other local options.

Great Service today, when I tool my Scout in for its second variable service. Replaced my premeture worn rear discs and offered some advice on approaching Skoda regarding the problem. Car was washed and they left me a bottle of screen wash in the passanger footwell. Miles better than previous experiance at Robert Blanford.

The Startin service guys at Powick are good - just had my Roomie serviced there - £227 (inclusive of VAT) for the 2yr Inspection Service and brake fluid change (and 1L of screen wash left in the car for me) - that's a discounted price. Much better than the supplying dealer (Winner Garage) in terms of customer service and technical competency. No hesitation in going back...... Based on personal experience, I would NOT recommend Winner Garage.

If you had bought the car recently from another (no Skoda) dealer why haven't you taken it back to them to sort out? Legally it is their job, not yours.

Would it be me that you road tested the car with by chance? I think it was as I remember the complaint I think. Probably best I don't delve into the ins and outs but feel free to send me a pm if you would like anything explained in a greater detail. Thanks - it was a replacement turbo that eventually resolved the symptom. Far from a happy experience I'm afraid, but I'm not blaming you personally.

I disagree, recently rang around for some quotes and Winner Garage gave me the new set price for a service and mot, (they quoted £129 for a small service or £249 for a large) the service was first class. Any extra's were explained and I had a choice to do it or not, I was very happy with Winner and I told the wife I'd washed the car, when they did it free of charge, don't tell.....

We bought our Octavia here in January/April 2013, as our local dealer (Blade, Gloucester) wasn't interested in the sale.   I would recommend them for sales, but haven't used their service department since 2008, so can't comment on this side of things.
