Just bought my second car off them in 5 months. First off I was going to part ex my cooper for a fabia vrs, but couldn't bring myself to do it so part ex'd my wife's megane for a silver vrs. the service from robert eardley himself was excellent, beating both cumbos and sylks by a wide margin. unfortunately the vrs had a couple of paint faults, but the ervice manager and sales team again were excellent going out of their way to ensure the faults were fixed with the minimum of hassle. so good was the vrs that I have spent the last 5 months driving it and not the mini, so what did I do part ex 'd the mini for a 130pd tdi octavia elegence estate in stone grey. which I'm enjoying even more than the vrs ( much better sound system, climate control and more toys with the same overtaking ability! The deal on the octavia was brilliant. Ian in sales has a great product knowledge and you can be sure of a good deal. I'll be back there in june for a new octavia 2.0 TDi I just don't know which car to part ex though!

Just had an excellent experience with Eardley's at Crewe. My wife's Fabia had its first service with them. Considerably cheaper than Wirral dealers. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Waited for car in pleasant showrooms. They also washed the car and fixed a horn push problem that other dealers had said:

a) Is not a problem

B) It's a characteristic of the car.

They have also taken over the vacant dealership in Stoke, at present in a large "warehouse" of a garage with space to display new & used cars, as well as servicing.

They've been saying this is a temporary home since they opened last year, but so far have no details of where the new site will be!

Friendly people, but seem to be operating very much as an outpost from Crewe at present. Pity really, because they'd be ideally located to service my new Octavia in mid-2007 as I work in Hanley.

I did speak to Robert eardley himself and the hanley site is tempory until he can find a suitable piece of land to build on. I know he has had problems finding a site and deals falling through on him.

I know most of the staff at hanley and they are very helpful. Had my 10k mile service done on tuesday plus managed to look at other things as well at short notice.

My wife's just ordered her 1st Skoda from Robert Eardley. We dealt with Phil who had only been working for Robert for two days!! He was excellent, dealt with us efficiently and gave us a cracking deal. Robert himself agreed to match the best price from the net and gave us above top book price for her part-ex. They managed to find a stock car matching the spec she wanted so she should have the car in the next 2/3 weeks:thumbup:  !! So far, so very impressed (long may it continue!!!).

Just had my fabia serviced at the Hanley branch. They seemed very efficient and had the car ready by the agreed time. It was the first service and the cost was £155-pretty much par for the course. Having not had the best of service from other (non Skoda) dealers in the past I was pleased to see that the oil was filled to the correct level. The wheels had been rotated as well - a nice touch.

SWMBO collected her Furby on Monday. Everything was as agreed, we were transferring a private registration which they organised very quickly at short notice!! The car was well valetted and ready to go even though we arrived 30 mins early.

So far all I can do is recommend Robert Eardley & Son, they have been absolutely 1st class!!

Just been back down to Crewe to collect some engine oil and a wiper arm (don't ask!!). Unfortunately the wiper arm had to be ordered but will be in by Saturday morning. The oil was on the shelf and reasonably priced so as far as parts are concerned they are very efficient. I also wanted to get the car booked in for a couple of warranty jobs (creaking clutch pedal and stutter gasket fix) as well as getting a cracked front fog light replaced. Phil (our original salesman) introduced us to Mark (the workshop manager) who couldn't do enough to help. He quoted a price of approx £50 to supply and fit the foglight and was more than happy to collect the car from our home address as soon as we could manage without it.

Again Robert Eardley & Son have proved to be 1st class, I hope the workshop itself can keep up the good work!!

Well the car's just been in for the work mentioned above.

The car transporter arrived bang on time, I thought they would physically drive the car back but obviously not, and the driver was very friendly!! The work was completed very quickly (car arrived back again within a few hours) and the car was beautifully clean.

The standard of work was good (stutter problem appears gone and no more squeeky clutch pedal) and the customer service was 1st class.

Long may this impressive show continue!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Talking to the service staff at Robert Eardley, I'm told that they are looking to purchase the old TINS car sales site on the A34 at Bradwell traffic lights (between Newcastle and Talke) for their new Stoke dealership.

Had my Furby vRS from them last Jan & they gave great service. Since been back to their new place on the A34 in Newcastle for the 10K service & again great service. Only down side is that spares have to be got from Crewe so its a bit of a run out as its the far side of Crewe from Stoke. However it was great service when i got there.

Just though I would post up that I'm well pleased with the service I got at the above when my little Furby vRS went in for its 2nd service & brake fluid change all for £213.

Shes now almost ready for the C&F on the 12th, just needs a good clean.

Can't say enough about Robert Eardley Skoda Newcastle Under Lyme . All staff are really helpful and friendly and can't do enough for you . Recently purchased 06 Octavia VRS from an idependant dealer in Leeds that I won't name . They put the car through a mot with a f/n/s shock that had dropped all its fluid and in my opinion the car was unsafe . To say that it slid sideways and jumped around when taking corners was an understatement . Independant dealer also said that they had serviced the vehicle but this has never took place as the screws in the sump guard were shredded and snapped and had never been removed . Oil was old etc etc.....

Eardleys Identified all of the problems which enabled me to speak to MD at independant dealer who blamed his sales staff for not fixing problems . He apologised and offered to pay to put right the defects and service . I informed him that I wanted the work to be carried out at EARDLEYS.

Eardleys carried out a cracking job on the vehicle . Had a full service , new front shocks . Bought some new VRS mats and booked in with them next week for a cruise control retrofit .

Found the service staff and manager to be genuine honest people who would do there upmost to help . The prices were reasonable to .A real credit to Skoda and the business , I would definatley recommend what a team thanks .

I took a friend's Fabia in for a 70,000 mile service at the Crewe dealership and compared to the treatment I receive in Norwich I was utterly appalled. The dealership itself is very small and cramped. Despite the fact that the dealership is a good way out of town no-one offered a lift back. On collection the car wasn't washed and it wasn't vacuumed inside. I guess they did change the pollen filter as there was broken black polystyrene on the passenger side carpet. £320 seemed pretty darned expensive for an oil, filter and spark plug change and a brake fluid change. They probably reset the ECU because the car ran on 3 cylinders for the first couple of miles.

There were no seats to sit on by the service desk and the coffee machine and cups were dirty, so no chance of me touching that. The guy on the service desk wasn't friendly or pleasant and just wanted to know if it was cash or card.

They seem to want to charge all the money but provide none of the service. They didn't hang one of those Skoda feedback hangers on the rear view mirror. I wonder why?

Apparently there are several good independents in the Crewe area, which is good as the car isn't going back to Robert Eardley's.

Doesn't shock me too much to be honest, I have a new Octavia which I bought from the Stoke garage and their customer service has been pretty rubbish!

Just bought my 3rd Skoda from this dealer. Salesman was good and the collection was on time. Unfortunately, there was a small problem with a refund due which took over a fortnight to get to me - partly they were a bit slow in sending the cheque and it appears Royal Mail have lost it. It was finally settled via a same day electronic transfer.

Just seen these guys had a thread for 'reviews' i actually bought my first Skoda from there i cant remember what the fellows name was, safe to say ive had better service from a snack machine, he was utterly appalling, i 'bought' a car, put the deposit down organised finance etc, only for him to ring my father a few days later to say the car 'had already been sold' and id have to look for another with the specs i wanted as getting one from the factory would have taken too long and wasnt really an option, i can honestly say if my heart wasnt set up on having this car i would have walked out long before, i got an awful deal on finance 'the best he could do' stupidly we didnt go anywhere else as time was off the essence, when i finally got round to picking up the car i took mine as a part ex, i took it on the friday (my MOT ran out a week or so later) but was assured all fine, when i got there, the car wasnt ready and needed to be looked at till wednesday, by this time they then said they would not accept my car as it had not got sufficient MOT on it, this was half of the reason i was buying a bran new car, i then took my car in for MOT which cost me over £200 i know this isnt Eardleys fault at all but anyway still mither, after all that i finally got the car 3 weeks after it was promised. To say i was displeased with the service of Eardleys is a massive massive understatement, i even went to the trouble of sending Eardleys a letter of disapproval of the service i received from them, i got a 'sorry to hear' letter with a £50 voucher and told us if we ever visited again we would be shown that this service was a mere one of and nothing more, so i went in not long after for my first service as i had the 3 year service package, i was demeaned by the man on service who said no such plan existed and i assured him it did and showed him the paperwork which he gave a solem nod to and then agreed i owed nothing,  anyway i ended up selling my car and clearing the finance and moving to the other side, after this horrendous experience i had with Eardleys at Crewe, i thought i was rid of them, i wasnt, they rang my father on a number of occasions (the salesman who failed miserably) and tried to sell my dad a car a number of times to which my dad politely replied if the service had of been better we may think about it but didnt want to. just when the finance would have run out on my old car we recieved another call from eardleys after perhaps 6 months of nothing, he said it looked like my car would be coming up for a finance pay off or whatever (even though i had long ago sold the car) would i be interested in a newer model, by this time i had already bought a newer skoda from somewhere else which was only a few months ago, i did try contacting Eardleys to get a few prices but never got a call back at all, i would never ever recommend anyone to these people, all i got was terrible service and ridiculous excuses to what seemed to me to be a simple transaction. if you are thinking about dealing with these people i would strongly advise you thought about it, there is plenty of good skoda dealers out there, i travelled 30 miles to see one recommended from here and i was utterly impressed with the car after going in for just a look bought the car 2 hours later, obviously i am just one man, but the experience i had has put me off for life, even though it is a mere 10 minute drive from me, i hope theyve cleaned there service up on sales and servicing, id be interested to know if they had.

I bought my Octavia Scout privately last year.

It was a one owner car with full Skoda dealer history and originally supplied by Robert Eardley Crewe

As this was my local Skoda dealer, I took the car there for a service.

All ok, so far except they left puddles of diesel on the offside inner wing and my car was returned minus a couple of wheel bolt caps.

I gave them feedback about this which fell on deaf ears.

As the car has the Haldex system I looked for paperwork on when it had it oil changed (60K or 37000 miles).

Couldn't find anything so called Robert Eardley to ask them to check their service history and advise - spoke to the service manager who suddenly became very cagey and said that they had a new computer system installed and so had no information on the car - even though they had serviced it just weeks before...

Long story short, I wasnt happy so phoned Skoda who wouldn't help because of the age of the car, however they did speak to the service manage who them offered to change the Haldex oil for £60. Ok not bad so the car went it to get it done.

I asked the service manager to record how much Haldex oil they drained out - which he agreed to, however when I collected the car he said that they would never do such a thing and that he never agreed to it - despite me leaving a note with him to this effect.

Few weeks later the car was due for MOT - again booked it into Robert Eardley @ Crewe. I knew that the front brakes were a bit low so asked them to check them before attempting the MOT - no point in doing the MOT if the brake pads needed replacing.

Rather strangely, the service manager said he couldn't tell the MOT guy what to do.

All became clear when I picked the car up - Robert Eardley had sent my car to another garage for MOT a fact that they had neglected to tell me beforehand!

The car had covered just over 2 miles, the radio had been retuned and the car had mud up the sides. Again gave feedback to no avail.

Obviously not happy.

I them decided to get a quote to have the rear differential oil changed - so again spoke to the service manager - who checked their records.... the records showed that my car had - had the Haldex oil changed.

I pointed out that the Haldex and the differential were 2 different components and each contained there own specific types of oil. The service manager disagreed and said that they were one in the same thing! WRONG! I tried to explain but he was adamant. Clearly knows nothing about the cars they sell.

This worried me to the point that I will no longer use them and now take my car to the local VW dealership instead.
