Park's - Hamilton

OctaVRS fired up for my morning commute to Edi, but only fired on 3 cylinders. Took car straight to Parks explaining my need to get to work asking to expedite their rectification if poss.

30 mins later, 'here's your keys Sir Phil'. They changed #1 coil pack and ran a diagnostic check.

It was I who mentioned if any charge was necessary, the reply was 'No, it's under warranty, but if you want to give your money I'll have some.'

Fantastic, friendly service, even for Hamilton!

Anyone know how much my 50K service should cost me? Dealer reckoned about

Brought my Fabia VRS with 3k on the clock to this dealer for a warranty repair (the car wasn't bought from this dealer though) - there was a strange noise when changing gear and a few annoying rattles. Went back at 5pm and was told that they fixed it by replacing something on the driveshaft and don't drive it too fast for a few days - so far so good. take the car, start the engine, first gear - WTF!!! it's exactly the same problem as before, and they also make the road noise VERY LOUD at any speed above 10mph!!! HOW CAN THEY TELL ME IT'S FIXED!!! DON'T THEY DO A TEST DIRVE AND HOW MUCH THEY CHARGED SKODA FOR THIS "REPAIR"?! I didn't bother to go back - simply because I don't trust them any more.

Get the problems and the bloody road noise fixed in the dealer I bought the car (this dealer has many very good feedbacks in this forum)without any hassle. was told that the noisy gear change was due to some sort of back lash setting (??)

I do suggest to check the dealer review section of briskoda to make sure the dealer you heading to has a few good feedbacks.

I went to this dealer a few weeks back to have a look at the Fabia vRS as it is my nearest dealer, but i wasnt impressed at all. :thumbdwn:

I was on my own, and just went to see the car properly for the first time in the showroom if they had one.

Firstly there was no spaces to park my car when i got there. There were too many cars, and no room to park.

The dealership isnt that big it self, so I had to park (i should say leave) my car on the busy Petrol Station forecourt, that is right next to the dealership.

Secondly while i was in the showroom having a look at the Fabia vRS, none of the salesmen came and spoke to me. I had a few questions to ask them, but none of them were that bothered. Two of them were standing next to the window having some tea and wee a chat while another sales guy was at his desk talking to some other customers. :finger:

(Maybe they looked at me and thought this guy isnt even going to buy one and i wont even bother wasting my time when i can enjoy my cup of tea.)

I was there for about 10 minutes, had a good look at the Fabia vRS and the new Octavia vRS, then got fed up and gave them the fingers and went out. :finger:

Oh yeah also after seeing the service area and the mechanics (the 16 yr old apprentices who looked about 12  ) and all the cars parked crammed together i wouldnt bother taking my car to them, unless i wanted it scratched or scraped because there is absolutly no space to move.

Although in saying this, the lack of space could have been due to all the new March 06 cars arriving and being prepared to be collected by their new owners.

Overall i think i would rather buy from someone else. Perhaps this was a one off experience, and i should visit this dealer again to see if they are any better than my first time visitng them.

DO NOT USE PARKS!

There we go, plain and simple, they're ****ing useless. I booked the service on mon this week. They wanted it sat 8am, so we arranged i could drop my car off on friday night.

Did so.

No call this morning to say the car was ready and the service dept closed. I called up asking what had happened. No-one knew and could i call back in half an hour. Called back, got the sales manager. He said he would contact the service guy at home and call back. Called back, had no record of me. He had pushed the keys to service dept, but nothing was done - even though they took all my details of the car and service required.

So, i've got to drive over to collect the car with nothing done. Cost me

St. Andrew's are great, my work has bought quite a few cars from them now (the latest being a 4x4 estate) and the service has always been top notch from both their sales and service depts. The only downside is the lack of parking spaces, but if you get there early in the morning then there's usually somewhere to park!

Go back to Parks? No chance!

Despite all I'd heard and read about Parks of Hamilton, I decided to take my 2006 Octy II Estate to them for it's first (variable) service at 18,600 miles. No regrets either. They were pleasant and courteous, did the service while I waited (a two-hour wander around Hamilton taking in a less-than-healthy fried breakfast in the Capocci Man - highly recommended) and fixed a minor water leak around a door seal.

All for

Called in to Park's to report fuzzing of bolster on driver seat and bubbling of one alloy wheel on my Fabia vRS. The desk guy and a colleague couldn't even be bothered getting off their ***es and having a look, all they would say was; these issues were down to wear and tear and therefore not covered by the warranty. So, that's it then. Not quite.

I went to another dealer, Henry's, Glasgow and would you believe both items are being replaced under warranty.

Customer Care doesn't figure with Park's, more appropriate would be Customer Beware.

I bought both my skoda's from park's of hamilton and, so far so good, not a problem with them. I reckon that round the lanarkshire area they are prob the most reasonable for service charges and the service i have recieved so far has been second to none.

However, the main man at the garage is a guy called Richard Keisler. He's the garage manager. Now when i was trading in my Fabia Vrs for the Octavia Vrs i was handing it over with nearly 1/2 a tank of Derv and all he could give me to replace the Derv was "

Parks have the grumpiest service manager known to mankind.

But they have fixed problems on the Fabia when Henry's couldn't be bothered.

These days I play Henrys and Parks off against each other.

(And most days I find myself stuck behind one of their coaches on my daily M8 commute, which is somewhat ironic...)

Went into Parks today to book my car in to get the paint checked over due to the bubbling of the bumpstrips

Service guy (Old ****) was cheeky and just not interested. Told him i needed a courtesy car as i can't have my car off the road. Was told you're not getting a courtesy car. When asked why not? He just replied because your not plain and simple!

He then went through the back and i heard someone say we just take photo's and email them to Skoda. Yet he wanted the car in for the full day as it's to undergo a workshop inspection? Car just sailed through it's MOT almost 3 weeks ago. Not even an advisory on it so why do they need it all day and to do a workshop check for a paint warranty claim?

Was thinking what an aggressive cheeky git! I booked the car in for Monday, but guess whats not gonna be their!?

Took my car to Park's for its 40k service today.

The grumpy service manager seems to have cheered up! :o

Seemed pretty good. Defo better than the quality of service I'd got used to Henry's. The ex-grumpy service manager actually said that they'd been getting quite a few defectors when I asked him about it...

Gave a full run-through of everything that had been done - status of the tyres and brakes all talked through and no attempt to pretend they needed attention. Gave me a bundle of paperwork detailing all of this that I never got from Henry's.

Only downside was the mechanics had moved all the stuff around inside my car. Fair enough, it's a bit of a tip at the moment, but why?

Took delivery of new yeti 2.0 tdi s(muscovado) today, cant express how easy an experience it has been

Car was delivered exactly when salesman(jason flood)said it would be,was prepared to the highest standard for pick up and have had fantastic feedback and attention from Jason Flood during the course of the transaction ;)

All in all,it has been a totally hassle free experience from window shopping to pick up of the car, would happily use them again and recommend to other people :rofl::rofl:

The grumpy service manager has been MIA from Parks for months now.

Anyway, just before Christmas, I booked the car into to have the wheels swapped front to rear. Yes I know that's not something a dealer should be involved in, but it was -3, the car was filthy and the rears always seize onto the hubs no matter how much copperslip I use.

I was fully expecting to pay around £20 for half an hour's labour, only to be told "no charge." So more kudos for this dealer from me.

does anyone know if the grumpy service manager still works at parks skoda?

The person you are talking about has retired,he was not the service manager, he just worked on the reception, and your right he was a grump, not the first time I had words with him.

New guy seems okay.

Grumpy service guy was wee john......a real pain in the rear think he was 'retired'

Fortunately been replaced by the fantastic Gordon......this guy is a real gent and knows his stuff. another guy called David works the desk with Gordon.

Have used this establishment for 9 years worth of Skodas....and never (other than grumpy service guy wee John) had any problems with them.

Yes the parking is tight, but if you cannny park you shouldnt be driving.

Contacted them 3 times about getting a new Fabia VRS...

1st time I emailed them got a call back

2nd time telephoned & salesman said he would call me back but never did

3rd time I emailed them about the 2nd time but never got response

Very poor

If pre sales is that bad, wonder how bad after sales is?

To update this...

I finally got a call from them about a car they had in stock but too late, I purchased elsewhere. They did ask if I was interested in getting my servicing done with them we'll see

I've just bought a year-old Fabia vRS from them - sales guys were fine to deal with - no complaints.

Not sure who I'll use for servicing - I work in Glasgow city centre so used Henry's for my MKI vRS. Will probably give Park's a go - can jump the train from Hamilton Central (5min. walk from Park's) - it's only 20mins into Glasgow Central low level (a short walk from my work in York Street).
