Skoda UK 'Service Campaign' VIN Checker. 'Help finding it please'.

Could anyone that knows of a VIN Checker for Skoda UK or VW UK that will show 

if there are possible Service Campaigns on the vehicle please post a Link to it. ? 

 

There are some current Recalls on Skoda Vehicles in the UK & the Registered Keepers should have received Letters from Skoda / VW UK on those.

But it is a Service Campaign Checker that would be very useful.

Sometimes a Dealership says no Campaign work is required, where later some find there is.

Requested an improvement to the Skoda News website 6 months ago via a discussion with Tom Chadwick -senior CS Manager. He thought the inclusion of a Vin Checker on the UK site was a good idea and was supposed to be presenting the idea to the CS Senior management review team.

Never really had any follow up contact - so I assume it fell on deaf ears and or too much hassle to improve communication to their CUSTOMERS in the UK

Customer Service IS A TWO WAY THING, ONLY THE MANUFACTURER CONSISTENTLY UNDER PERFORMS IN THIS AREA.

SO HOW COME THEY RECEIVE THE INDUSTRY AWARDS via THE JOURNOS.

It would be interesting to know whether this includes the entire Skoda vehicle database or just those cars sold in New Zealand? I seem to recall that some UK posters on this site found their cars listed.

The NZ Skoda one worked great with the VIN numbers of UK Registered cars that i checked, the vehicle comes up,

just as the one you linked in another thread last year.

 

Only issue is they are not correct factually on the status of the vehicles,

maybe a bit like when the Dealers Reception Staff check the Skoda UK Database from time to time.

the VOSA Recall Site really is only of use in the UK were there is a 'Recall'.

Then the Manufacturer gets the Registered Keepers Contact Details from the Government Executive Agency 

and the vehicle can be recalled,  or should.

 

With the UK Service Campaigns, the Manufacturer or Franchised Dealers can only use their Records of People they Sold,

Leased cars to, or have had contact with and maybe Contact those, or tell the person putting a car in for Servicing or Warranty Work.

 

People having no Contact maybe buying cars privately or from Traders & Independent Dealers might never 

hear about the Skoda Service Campaign, 

ie, DQ200 DSG, Heated Seat Element, Wiring Loom and the likes.

 

Owners or Keeper often need to check in  with the Manufacturers Customer Services or Official Dealers & hope they are notified correctly once they hold you on the Data Base.

VW UK, seem to find space on their Website,  odd that Skoda UK can not.

It does say it is Recalls & Safety Related, so should be the same as can be found on the VOSA Site,

i seem to remember that VW used to have a Service Campaign Checker.

I'd be cautious about those "checkers". In my example my VIN does not return any results and I had front seats heating element changed under a recall campaign last year...

Just call your Skoda dealership and ask the question
