Leaving the Yeti fold

I'm going to be given a Mondeo.

:peek:

Decent car, especially if it's one of the new Mk 5's.

Possibly even more exclusive than a Yeti, considering that Ford don't expect to

sell that many in the UK.

Actually, when the offer came through I went to the local Ford dealer and had a sit in one (they only had one Mondeo at the entire dealership) and it seemed fine. Door had a decent thunk to it, the seat was comfy and the controls were laid out in a sensible manner. Plus it's the estate so plenty of carrying space. I'd still rather have a choice though.

Got to say the Renegade looks like a decent car at a reasonable price (compared to its competitors), though the 1500kg braked towing capacity is a restriction.

Will be interested to hear the OP's views once she takes delivery.

Renegade is now built so hopefully I will take delivery in a couple of weeks and will let you know my thoughts.

MArieK,

Does it come in a suitable Tartan? :giggle:

As an apprentice I was once sent to get a tin of Tartan paint. :|

Omaha Orange - excellent choice :) That would be my preference, though as I commented on the other thread the yellow is very impressive too. Definitely get some pictures up when it arrives :sun:

I understand the Renegade is made in Italy by Fiat.Same platform as the Fiat 500X.

Does not attract me enough to give up my trusty steed.

I am sure should I decide to change my Yeti to anything else-I would be sorry the same day.

But thats me. Good luck with your new toy Marie.

There will be the Haval H2 out before long.....made by Great Wall but said to be vastly better in every way, including 5 start safety etc.

The Chinese are coming !

I'm old enough to remember when Japanese cars were laughed at - not for long.

Korean cars were too - that didn't last either.

U.S. and European manufacturers must worried they are on borrowed time as stand alone producers.

As for the rest of the world, I'm happy in my generation thanks very much.

I've just googled this Haval thing you speak of, its too boring a shape for my liking.

I'll need to sell my winter tyres too, they're too big for the octavia. Hidden costs of car changes

To me, Asian manufacturers don't understand the phrase that sometimes 'less is more' when it comes to styling......too much origami and bling.
