Not exactly a project or build.. but I have a feeling its going to turn out that way in time haha. Thought id get a thread going just to post up the progress being made on my 2011 Fabia Monte Carlo 1.6Cr TDI.

I used to drive a Volkswagen Bora, it was my first car, ended up putting a lot of time effort and mainly money into it. Few Pictures just so you get the idea

Patience ran thin after spending out on a gearobx, clutch and two driveshafts all within 6 months. So sold it and went out to buy myself a new car.

Was offered a Fabia Monte Carlo 1.6cr TDI and took it out for a test drive and was set. Considering i was used to a car close to 15 years old, jumping into a car under 4 years old felt great!

Lovely looking car - right up my street ! Was going to keep the car factory standard as my last car i was forever changing bits. Just thought id keep it clean instead of tweaking bits.

Few months past and the shopping list for the car started growing.

First things first, bulbs. Bought myself some LED daytime running lights, number plate bulbs, a bulb for the boot and glovebox plus some LED sidelights and Interior bulbs. Also went with a set of Mtec 100w bulbs for the main beam. The standard bulbs where shocking! Crazy how just some brighter bulbs can make a difference.

Didn't take me long till i was in the mood to start swapping bits over and tweaking. I've always wanted a double din satnav- So i saved up the pennies and did a bit of shopping

Few days later a parcel turned up at my door..

Nice bit of kit.. Maybe should of spent a bit more into it but hey ho. Does the trick and to be fair for the money i spent im pretty happy with it!

Long time since I have posted and quite a few changes have taken place with the Monte Carlo.

Coilovers fitted and sitting exactly where I want them, improved the handling by miles and looks so much better in my opinion!

Nearly every bulb on the car has been changed to LED. Plus running chrome indicator bulbs.

Number plate bulbs

Boot light

Interior Lights

Reversing light

Sidelights

Daytime running lights

Fog lights

Doesn't go too bad either now. It was running 105hp with 250nm of torque, but now with a stage 1 Shark Performance map put on the car by W8 Performance ( pushed the figures up to 135hp and 295nm. Straight through exhaust from the dpf back, however dpf and egr delete are on the cards for later this year. Should see 150hp and more torque with a stage 2 map. Rear whiteline anti roll bar soon to be ordered!

The most latest addition to the Fabia is a Kill All Wipers delete kit, finishing off the back end.

Apart from that, maintaining the paintwork and getting it up to scratch has been my priority. Awaiting delivery of some Poorboys World swirl remover and a touch up pen. Coming along nicely!

The new alloys suit it better than the factory standard ones..

How does the rear windscreen cope day-to-day.. I honestly couldn't live without my rear wiper on the Mk1 ..

Cheers bud   Its not been too bad, gets bad when you do long journeys especially on motorways. Only had it off a couple of weeks and its not got on my nerves yet haha

It's amazing how much better the rear end looks just by actually having a tailpipe (or two!) showing, even a standard Monte, with a bog standard exhaust would look so much better if it had a tailpipe showing instead of being hidden away, every time I look at the rear of mine I can't help but think it looks daft without a pipe showing, it's as if something is missing!

Rest of he car looks great too, really like the wheels!

Yeah, I agree, there's so many little touches that can be added to make the Monte Carlo look so much better! Thanks mate, I'm glad you like them   Not everyone likes my taste haha

Made the most of my Sunday cleaning the car. Looking forward to summer!  :sun:

Quick snow foam and clay, doesn't scrub up too bad!

Looking good mate, still want to know how you have the same bulbs as me yet yours look better. Taken my HID kit off as it started playing up.
