Driver's Seat rocking?

Recommended Posts

The drivers seat on my Fabia Classic rocks back very slightly every time I get in (and forwards, and back again depending on how fast I take corners) and it's getting annoying. I think it's something to do with the fixings at the front not being tight enough but theres so much ruddy plastic skirting around the seat that I can't get a proper look.

Anyone got any helpful hints for sorting it out? Thanks in advance

Put the seat all the way back and you can see where it's fixed to the car. You will need a spline bit to tighten the bolts if they are loose.

+1.

Push it all the way forward to access the rear bolts, same thing. Think its an M6 or M8 spline.

I've had a look but it's not to do with where the rail is fixed to the car, it's where the seat is fixed to it's runners on the rail - but there's all the plastic skirting around the mechanisms so I can't get to it, does that make sense?

Yes. In that case you will need to remove the seat in order to remove the plastics.

See the guide linked above.

Adem did you solve the rocking seat issue I also have this problem????

Yeah, the garage did it for my MOT. Had to take the seat out and weld it back into place.

That's good to know, with 0ut being rude how much did that set you back please buddy so I know not to get robbed by the garages by me???

Don't mind you asking fella but honestly, couldn't tell you as they did a bunch of stuff all at once for me, so not sure what the individual cost was. Shouldn't be too much though - mainly just labour for the time I'd imagine?
