superb outdoor plus advice and choice....

Hi all

Been juggling options of a new octy estate scout or vrs, but then realised the outgoing superb could probably be had for similar price in outdoor plus spec. Getting close to doing a deal...

Any general tips or advice on the outdoor plus or any 'must have' options??

Agree with silver1011. If it has leather seats then yes, heated seats.

 

Personally I don't see the attraction of leather having had it in previous cars. Freezing cold in winter, roasting hot in summer and slippy if you're an enthusiastic driver. After a few years it looks awful, cracked and baggy. I had the alcantara seats in a Passat and even after 130k+ miles the seats still looked great and expect my current Superb ones to be the same.

So the Elegance is cheaper, you get Xenons with AFS, memory seats, heated front seats and the Columbus satnav as standard...I'm struggling to justify the "Outdoor" part over an Elegance spec to be honest...

 

For added equipment, my votes;

 

1. Outdoor spec;

 

Add Xenons, Heated seats, Columbus, PDC front + rear (standard = none), Electric Boot

 

2. Elegance spec;

 

Add Electric boot

 

The Elegance already has rear PDC as standard, so you could consider adding the Park Assist to get self parking + front sensors, but in my view fronts are not that essential.

 

The electric boot is the most usefull silly option I have on my car, use it everyday!

 

If you have some extra pennies after all that, I'd spring for the Sound System, and heated front screen (if you can get it in the UK)

I have the Tour de France which I picked up as an ex-demo. If I was buying new, I'd probably go for the Elegance with 4x4, although IMO the TDF looks better with the grey bumpers. Like previous posts, the Outdoor Plus seems overpriced and lacks some of the toys of the Elegance, such as auto wipers - which I really miss from my previous car - not to mention the higher spec Columbus Satnav.

Having said that, massively enjoy the TDF. Brilliant car!

Thanks all for the comments, spare wheel and heated seats is looking likely.

Re elegance vs outdoor, once the 4x4 is on the elegance the gap very much closes in terms of rrp and i prefer styling and wheels of outdoor. With negotiation status so far may end up getting a lot of car for the money....

Ah the 4X4...forgot about that  yeah that would make an Elegance + 4X4 vs Outdoor about the same price I guess...

 

I will say this, now is the time to order a Superb II FL...don't know when they plan on closing the ordering book in preparation for the Superb III launch, you should be able to get a good deal!
