There is a metal spring clip to the rear (of the car) end that needs to be pressed in.

Then leaver the back edge out before the front.

Good luck finding LED bulbs that fit. They are very size intolerant and many bulbs are nominally sized.

I had great difficulty finding some before forcing some in...

To remove the lights did you pull down on the front or rear of the light first?

I simply inserted a small flat bladed screwdriver in underneath the  front edge of the light fitting next to the O mark. I then pushed the spring back with the screwdriver  and once I had it out far enough I pulled the front edge of the fitting towards me

I've just been trying to remove my rear courtesy light fittings, but I'm finding that it only comes out so far then it's stuck, this is on a 65 plate model (don't know if that makes a difference) I will try from the front of the car tomorrow and post if their is any success.

Screwdriver under the front to push in the retaining clip then pull down from the front and slide out. The connection sticks out a bit at the back but will pull forward when the front is dropped a bit.

It's the same as this Youtube clip, it shows removing the offside lamp.
