Performance Bushes

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,

I just wanted to start a tread on OEM or Aftermarket bushes on the Mk2 Superb.

I am about to fit a Whiteline Anti Lift Kit and Powerflex control arm bushes to add a bit of feel and response to steering. I will add a review once they are on. I also intend to add a Vibratechnics VAG520M lower engine mount.

Has anyone else tried Superpro, Polybush, Powerflex or any others to get a bit more response out of their Superb?

Good thread Sparkly.

I am looking at bushes and the such like. Not fitted any yet but want to research the market and buy in ready for when my car needs them. It's quite tight at the moment so in my mind no use replacing until current set up gets sloppy.

I've seen the white line kits and the polybush kits and Fleabay has them reasonably priced as does Demon Tweaks.

What I have not found yet are sway bars/strut bars. I'm after one for the front end. Does anyone make them for the big Skoda?

Will watch this thread with interest

The world is your oyster, double check with the supplier when purchasing but Golf Mk5 platform cars in particular 4wd versions in my case.

They use the same roll bars. For examples H&R 33220HA does my car and the Mk5 Golf R32

Your link is to strut braces not sway bars.

Which one are you after? I'm not sold on the benefits of strut braces, mostly I feel they are decorative but looking at where our strut tops are under the trim these will be hidden/potentially tricky to fit.

Interested if you go for it.

You are right Sparkly - I was provisionally looking at a strut brace for the top of the turrets. Going back to escort days and latterly a mk1 ax GT the strut brace was a massive improvement.

On the Superb it will probably be not as significant an upgrade as the sway bar which fits on the underside.

Can't find much on either of these from owners who have fitted them though....

I have seen those they are the Audi S3/TT OEM bushes, a lower shore rating than what I have gone for but potentially very nice.

A compromise solution with better NVH reduction.

I think that must be the rear lower control arm/wishbone set, I would look at front an rear if you aren't already. As a set they should work well together.

I see darkside offer the Vibratechnics 520M lower engine mount. I really want to fit this in the future to improve response. I think it is a great upgrade.

If you go for the right roll bars they tend to come with an uprated bushing, I'm not sure if Polybushes are the way for me, especially if the bar is stiff, you get a very uncompromising effect. Kind of the opposite of going with the TT control arm bushes.
